This forum seems quite divided on him!

Personally, his judging (and sometimes DVOs) is the only I'll really listen to. He seems the only one willing to point out bad points, the most honest. Admitidly this wasn't the case when Zoe was on the pannel but still, this series he's given a fair perspective on each girl.

That being said I do tend to shout at the TV "JOHN WHAT ARE YOU SAYING" but on average his judging is the best.

Looking around many don't agree! Why?

I think all of the judges are a much of a muchness really - a lot of them talk utter bull sometimes, but then make some apt points at others. John isn't that bad though. I used to listen to Andrew the most in the previous two series but he's come across as a bit of an idiot this series.

YAY for John.

I think you're right, he's probably been the most constructive judge this series. But there are elements of bias towards certain contestants from him, which is why I think people object to him as a judge. I figgin' love the man though.

It's not so much JB as what he is saying that peole don't like. When he was praising Jessie in the first few weeks, there weren't loads of posts saying he didn't know anything then.

Personally I have respect for him as a judge as he is so experienced as a performer. I tend to agree with him most of the time - I don't think I ever agree with a judge all of the time.

Nay, his biases are really obvious.

He's judging the girls on totally different criterea and he's actually even stopped trying to hide it.

'You didn't move me, but i don't care'

I think that counts as the stupidest comment of the series.
Oh, wait a minute, here's another one.

'Sometimes, emotional cracking is better than perfection'

Jeez John, give us credit for the intelligence we were born with.

I don't know what happened to him this series, I remember him being much better on Joseph and Maria (that said, his biases were obvious then too.)

That is not true imo. It is the way he delivers what hes saying. At times he seems to delight in Jessie's imperfection. It was also completely unprofessional to tell Ashley she should have gone (although to be fair that wasn't when he was ont the panel)

He has come across as a bully in the last few episoded. Granted I like jessie so prob notice it more but that doesn't make it untrue. He has to drag her down all the time. Last week he had his say, then BH, then DVO and he interrupted Denise to make a negative remark again. He seems quite angry that she is still there

And don't get me started on the whole holding hands things when it was either Jessie or Sam in the sing off. Egocentric Bully.....no more to it in my eyes

Yay for John, because he's honest, funny and of course really really good looking!!!!

Nay!

Can't even be bothered to say why anymore.
Biased, and the comments he makes don't make sense. He's rehersed what he's going to say from a script, well that's how it seems.

I think he has got better at being honest since his rather obvious disagreement with ALW a few weeks ago. Prior to that I felt he was following a script and saying what was expected of him, as some of it was so out of sync. with the performances.

Yay from me.

He's not DVO and he's not Barry.

That's enough for me.

I'd keep ALW as I become strangely fascinated when he orates. STRANGELY.

It's hard for me to concentrate on what he's saying because I have such a massive crush on him.

BH is the worst... *vomit*

I dont like the way JB picks on Jessie because i think she rocks...

ALW should have saved rachel!!!

so all in all its all gone a bit weird... however...

Jodie is in the final so I am uber happer!!!

I used to quite like him but now I think he comes across as a bit of a knob

I think JB judges first based on emotions after all he's an actor through & through.

Difficult to say whether he's giving an objective or subjective comments as he swings right left & centre most of the time.....very inconsistent judge.

I'm a big fan or Captain Jack Harkness, but John Barrowman has made a complete tit of himself on this programme IMO

The panel are all stuck up people in some ways. But to survive in that type of businus they have to be.
ALW is ok I guess and I'm actualy starting to think you're right, maybe he should have saved Rachel.
The thing that gets me about JB is that he told the public to take a chance on Sam and compared her to Jessie. Not very proffessional. If I'm being honest, I haven't seen anything perticularly good about Sam based on her performences recently. And I didn't like her performence on saturday.

Very unprofessional of him to do that & he should know better.

Same here. He used to come across as a decent guy, quite modest and unassuming..now he seems a bit full of himself.
Over-exposure effects people, they start believing all the hype.
What has everyone got against BH ?..the guy is a legend, he has had an enormous influence on comedy and no friend of the late Peter Cook can be all bad.
Having said that, Denise does make me laugh. A mediocre performer casting judgement on girls with far more natural talent..I'm surprised they can keep their mouths shut, I certainly couldn't in their position.

Yes I'm wondering if Denise would fit the bill for playing Nancy and would he have got through to the finals based on talent. She hasn't really got any, so I'm guessing no.

I think she lacks the likeability factor she speaks of too

To be fair, she probably would make a decent Nancy.
Though, its difficult to imagine her playing "vulnerable"..I think there would have been half a dozen or more contestents in front of her if she had been in the competition.

Yay.
but JB does get carried away - but surely you don't get on in showbiz like he had by being a shrinking violet?

As for being a bit of a knob - he'll most likely take that as a compliment.
