re blu ray players
can you buy one that records onto disks not necessarily in HD,but SD off the telly but can play HD blu ray disks obviously ..if so please post any links

There are no standalone units in the UK (maybe a couple in Japan) that have Blu-ray playback and the capability of recording on any medium unless you build a HTPC yourself
