Smelly DVD Player... Advice Please?
Hi. My Philips DVD player has started to play up. It smells a bit of something burning and the sound is all over the place. It also emits loud clicking noises all the time.
Obviously I have unplugged it and taken it away from the tv and SKy+ box etc so what do I do with it now? I called Philips and they want £206 all in to pick it up, repair it and return it. Too much for me so....... Who shall I look for for help fixing it, I take it it is some kind of circuit board that needs replacing but I am unsure about how to go about it. It is part of the Home Cinema Surround sytem, model number LX 3950W. I don't want to bin it as it is a great system and sounds awsome!! Any ideas/help will be appreciated. |

Have you got any independent retailers nearby who have their own workshops?

Just been out and bought a new Samsung dvd/surround bit of kit so the Philips LX 3950W is up for sale if anyone wants it for spares or repair or something.
