That was laughable; admittedly Lucinda was pretty useless in the car task but it was an interesting display of selected memory from both Alex and Lee there - although I wouldn't be surprised if Lee had forgotten who said what and Alex just went along with it.

We'll see how he fares with nobody else to blame or back him up during the interview stage.

He is sneaky and underhand - though I guess he's been edited that way to look even more so. Not that I'm sticking up for him, mind, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. He'd sell his granny for a fiver.
And yes, he is good looking - but ugly at the same time.

he's sly like Paul Tulip was - you can see him smirking when he stirs up a sh*tstorm, horrible little man

Alex has been very poor attempting to defend himself, when under attack from Sir Alan in the boardroom. He's going to be further exposed for the pretender he is when the really tough interviewing begins next week.

Watch him unravel and fall apart, as he fails abysmally to cope with the intensive grilling !

I never ever thought I'd ever see anyone say that Alex's head was small.

Except that Paul always tried to win his tasks. Whereas until recently Alex has refused to take part in the task assigned to him, so not contributing to the team in any way, then hoping that because he did nothing (good or bad) he won't be brought back into the boardroom.

But, like Paul, he's going to be fired at the interview round. With no Lee (or Claire) to hold his hand, he's going to be picked off by all the interviewers and revealed to be pretty much useless at anything and everything. So we can all breathe a sigh of relief...

I thought Alex was alright, he dosen't talk alot and what he does say isn't particularly important and he's not as good as Lee or Claire business-wise but the raffle idea was his, as he brought it up while in the car, that is unless I missed something.

It was Lucinda who suggested the raffle idea in the car. Alex expanded on it.

What I'm puzzled about is this--all I saw in that task was Alex in a bowtie and ghastly hairstyle, looking a complete twit, standing around like Lee's skinny henchman. I didn't see Alex doing one bit of selling, did you? If he's such a hot salesman, why was that all edited out?

You've been tricked by the master obsfucator....it's his main talent dontcha know

He is the ultimate annoying younger sibiling - start a diasagreement then subtly misconstrue any point offered up, wait until the other person gets wound up + emotional ....and then..... step back, unflustered giving off an air of "reasonableness"....
"My girl stop, you're being unreasonable, now do as I say - leave Alex alone"

"But Mum...it was my idea to build this sandcastle I've spent hours ..and he's jumping all over it"

"Now Lucinda I don't care who's idea it was, your suppossed to be playing together...let your little brother jump all over it if he wants....I thought more of you than this. I'm very disappointed in you . Stop being so childish and just get on with it."

"But Mum....it's not fair you always take his side...."

In the background Alex slinks off ....with a big smile...

For me, if you go back to the first boardroom you begin to see what a snake Alex is, how he twisted comments made to try and make himself the victim, when he was the one that was actually picking on people during the task. He has Nicholas poor defense of himself that first week in the boardroom to thank for staying in the show. Then you have his negatively in the laundry task, swiftly followed by his disgraceful attitude towards Simon combined with his utter unwillingness to take an responsible at all.

Following that debacle, he spent the next few weeks finding ways to get through tasks without drawing attention to himself while collecting things to use against other team members in the board room. I firmly believe had he been more focused on winning tasks in these weeks he might have been on the winning side more often, but his only interest was in saving his own backside. Even SAS made a point of saying he didn't think Alex had done much.

His project management last week was very poor, he clearly cannot manage people at all (see week one), and it was really more luck than anything that saw them win. He sold a couple of cars this week, but his treatment of Lucinda was awful, even though I do think she handled things badly.

And that is without trying....there are tons more things I could say!

eta: and I can't let his little big man act the week the group attacked Sara go unnoticed...he sits back and waits to see which way the wind is blowing before leaping in to join the attack, albeit in a thoroughly incoherent way.”

Great post - I would like to slap him

Unfortunately, Vivid is no longer around to defend himself or his weird infatuation with Alex.

But considering Vivid hates women, particularly Claire and Lucinda, hates northern people (so Helene and Claire again, although Alex is also from the north; but from Lancashire, not Yorkshire) and hates what he terms vulgar people (i.e. Lee and Claire again) then Vivid can only want Alex to win. And his refusal to listen to anything that anybody suggests as reasonable arguments against his judgement, with snotty comments like "You are clearly deranged" or "There is nothing in your post worth responding to" or "You are totally detached from reality" means that he was suffering from a complete head-in-the-sand refusal to accept that he might be wrong.

I don't think he'll be missed. Other than to laugh at when his pretty boy falls at the final hurdle...

Hi Dave,

It's weird, I always assumed Vivid to be a lass lol

He was doing exactly the same to Lucinda in another thread, but always sticking up for Alex. When it is clear to anybody who has watched the show from the beginning that Alex is clearly riding his luck, sucking up to whoever is his project manager, and hoping that his inability to actually achieve anything saves him from the firing line, rather than bothers trying to contribute towards the task. He has (slightly) improved since the wedding task - let's face it, his attitude, his sneering and face-pulling, his refusal to do absolutely anything during the earlier tasks, was painful to watch. Michael may have been a snivelly weed, but he did try to achieve something, even if that something was totally flawed beyond belief (the wedding cakes, the Ferrari, the Kosher chicken). Alex just puts his big coat on, turns his collar up, pushes his mouth to one side of his face or the other and hopes that nobody gives him anything to do. The Simon task ("Don't make me your assistant - I don't want it") was certainly his worst avoidance of actually having to do any work, but there have been many many more.

Claire carried him from task three onwards - if she hadn't been on his team he would have been fired long ago, because for some reason the poor girl took a fancy to him early on and decided he needed protecting. Since they have been split up he's got a new mate, Lee, and to give them credit, they have worked quite well together. But they have both bullied Lucinda for the past two weeks (who surprise surprise is another one that Vivid has a real problem with) and they will get caught out next week.

Vivid, FYI next week is the interview round. This is where each candidate is examined on their own, they have no bezzy mate to hide behind, they have to converse one to one with the interviewers. Alex struggles to string a sentence together, refuses to accept any responsibility for anything he says or does, lies (claiming the raffle ticket idea was his only five minutes after Lucinda suggested it and Lee agreed), and we all know that he doesn't reach the final anyway. I know you say that you don't really care one way or the other for Alex, but that is blatantly a lie. Along with the little girlies on here who fancy him with his scruffy hair and his unshaven face, you are far and away his biggest fan. So, it is admirable in some ways to see you defend his honour. Unfortunately, that honour disappeared early on in this series, and even though there has been a slight improvement in the past two weeks, anybody with any perception can quite clearly see that it is down to Lee carrying him. Once they are separated, and he has nobody to hold his hand, he's going to be out.

--- Cue Vivid rushing to his dictionary to come back with another set of words containing clueless, venomous, devoid, reality, perception and mindless to describe this post, and chav, rough, ignorant, fat, gormless, stupid and odious to describe Claire. And he'll probably chuck in the odd disruptive, argumentative, lazy and useless to describe Lucinda whilst he's at it ---

Vivid, the time has come. Your inability to see the blindingly obvious when it is laid before your eyes shows that you are a very weak and blinkered person, and your continual put-downs of everybody who can see you are deluded is becoming very, very tiresome. You aren't a team player, you're just an argumentative fool who thinks that typing the same way that Raef speaks makes you appear intellectual. It doesn't, it just makes you appear dull and stupid. You're Fired. Along with your little Manc friend. Maybe he'll let you borrow his big coat on the way home.”

Ohmigod what a fabulous post! I have just come home from hospital after a bit of a health scare and this great post has made me feel SO much better. Very very clever. (insert recuperating smiley face!)

A long time ago I suggested that he fancied Alex, along with all the other girls on sez-babe's post, and he said very indignantly "I'm a red blooded male who just happens to know talent when I see it". Then he went on to berate me for failing to see that Alex wiped the floor with everybody, called Claire a slag and Lucinda a drip, and buggered off. Otherwise I, like you, would assume that that infatuation was driven by wanting to bed Alex rather than being able to see any business acumen hidden behing the sneering, unshaven, weedy, weasly little runt.

He is the kind of man that most would walk away from rather than reason with, as his point of view cannot be swayed. However, can I just APPLAUD Dave Javue here, for his handling of the man yesterday.

I am the archetypal lurker, who has been viewing forums for years, but has never been drawn in to participate, until yesterday. I registered, but only got membership confirmation today.

I joined not to waste time debating with Vivid, but to congratulate Dave on his great posts which not only silenced the now ex-member, but also summed up the feeling of a lot of people rather eloquently.

Dave Javue - I salute you!

I'm not even sure where the comparison of Claire with a chav comes from? She might not be the most pleasant individual, but she's anything but a talentless chav.
