Will my Panasonic DVD player work if it is stood on it's side ??

Very short of space so the only option may be to stand it on it's side !!

Probably not. The problem might not be actually playing the disk as that should work whatever orientation the player is.

No the problem will be getting the disk into and out of the machine. The disk tray will most likely just have a shallow depression in it to take the disk. If you stand it on it's side the disk will slip out and fail to load properly. And if you do manage to get it to go in it may still slip and fail to engage with the drive spindle properly. then you will probably have to demolish the player to get the disk out!

Some trays have little plastic lugs on them that hold a disk in place in the tray. That type might allow you to stand the player on it's side and not have the disk fall out of the tray.

But frankly i would not recommend it. it is not how the machine is designed to work and you might get away with it but equally you could end up with a serious jammed up mechanism. Not worth the risk really .
