When I switch to Guide to select a programme to record later I just get a display of the current programme and the next. After that I get 'No further information available'. This happens on every channel and has been for the lasgt three days, suddenly. I did a retune but no change. Whats happening?

Which Thomson box are you using?

Do you have the 14 day EPG?...or just 7 days?

I'm not sure what you mean by 7 or 14 day EPG !!

Aaah sorry...was assuming you were using the new DTR.....don't know anything about the old model.

All I can think of is that you've not received an EPG update recently which I beleive is downloaded at 3am

Thank you very much for your quick reply. 'Him indoors' has been turning it off completely at night cos he thought it was getting rather hot, so it hasn't been receiving any updates. Will leave it on tonight. Fingers crossed!

I assume you mean the DHD4000. The DHD4000 has a 14-day EPG (EPG standing for Electronic Programme Guide). This means that your box will provide details of all programmes on all channels for the next 14 days. The DHD4000 downloads this data at 3 am every day, so you must leave the box plugged in and on standby overnight.

If you have issues with the box running hot then do a search on this forum as there have been a number of modifications to help. Even without modifications, you can improve matters by keeping the unit in an airy place and not enclosing it, and elevating it by placing it on small blocks to get more airflow underneath. Again, search this forum for more tips.

Thanks again for all the help and yes, putting it on standby overnight did the trick. We now have full info!
