Met JB again yesterday, at the Robin Hood panto launch at the Birmingham Hippodrome. He was as adorable as always. He arrived at the theatre on a horse! Lol. I took lots of photos of him (and the horse! lol), inside and outside the theatre, and have posted to the links to some of them below.

My friend and I also spoke to him about IDA and Jodie. He was totally singing Jodie's praises, he truly does adore her. He also made it clear he's not happy with Cameron Mackintosh at all, with the way he behaved towards her on the final show.

During the Q&A yesterday he also said he probably won't be starring in Barnum in the West End any more now. He didn't elaborate as to why, but I just hope it's not because of any falling out between him and CM, who's producing the show. Hopefully not, but I was so looking forward to seeing him back on the West End stage again. Now it looks like we'll have a lot longer to wait, unless another project comes along, of course!

Anyway, here's some of the pics my friend and I took of JB yesterday:

Some great photos there - thanks for sharing.

That's a real shame about Barnum, I was really looking forward to that (

A shame about Barnum, a role John was born to play. But if he said probably then maybe there's still a slim chance.

Actually, I should correct my error in saying "Barnum" in my previous post, as JB didn't actually say which production. But it was just obvious, from what he was saying, that that was the show he had to have been referring to, when talking about the "big project" in the West End that he was supposed to be doing, but said that he probably wouldn't be doing it any more. Unless, of course, he had ANOTHER West End show lined up, I don't know. Whatever the case, I really hope he does return to the West End soon, where he belongs! Not to say I don't totally love him in Torchwood, of course. I think he's wonderful as Captain Jack! But he really is an amazing stage performer.

Totally agree! Maybe they should do Anything Goes again! He's played that before!

Or do Rent (Not remixed!) & have him as Collins!

Any other ideas?

Wasn't the other WE show rumoured supposed to be Phantom 2?

Too smooth, not butch enough?

The JB who goes scuba diving with sharks on his holidays and had to give up snowboarding for Captain Jack? Who's 6 inches taller than Tom Cruise? Who's able to do an entire scene with Burn Gorman's supposedly unconscious body draped over one shoulder? Who's so strong that they have to reinforce props on the Who sets? Who as Captain Jack tortured an injured man for information to save his team and took down a half-dozen cannibal villagers with a shotgun? That JB?

When the post was made about Captain Jack being just like JB that scene sprung to mind.

In TW Declassified James Marsters say he's never worked with an actor who participates in fight scenes like JB.

I'm with Al Murray on this - not an ounce of mince about him.

Oh yeah, James Marsters makes it clear that JB does far more of his own stunts than he does -- JB wanted to do the long fall in KKBB, but they wouldn't let him.

I thought that but wasn't sure thought I might be confusing it with something else.

I loved the contrast between JB in his MT persona which is smooth and the tough guy that Captain Jack is.

I am glad they have a no. 2 because the original seems so unfinished to me.

I'm going to the Faenol concert. Hope my seats are close enough to take good pics! I'm in the second row but I have the feeling there'll be a huge gap between the front row and the stage, being an outdoor festival type concert. Whatever the case I can't wait. John, Daniel and Jodie all on stage together, fantastic.
