Acts such as magic/juggling/comedy/dancing everyone can have a go at and practice and put in a lot of effort to get better. (Im not saying singers don't put in a lot of practice because I'm sure they do) but you're either born with it or not IMO which is why I think it's a bit unfair to allow them into BGT. They do after all have TXF. In nearly all other acts it takes talent to do what they are doing.
I'm in the extreme minority (I know) when I say this but Farlys' act was boring and for me was the worst act of the night. From a show like this I want something entertaining - something that makes me smile ... acts like Farly don't do it for me and I'm very pissed off at Simon for hyping up some acts over others. I nearly smashed by telly in when after Potts' final performance alst year in the final Simon says that he should definetly win and it would be a travesty if he did not (something along those lines- don't quote me
). It is extremely very much so unfair on the other acts and I expect makes them very embarrassed.
This year I want someone talented to win.
Though I doubt it will happen.”
You do not just wake up one morning and discover that you can sing opera like that! She's been singing since she was 7 and I think having lessons (is she at music school?) for years.
As much as I didn't want a singer to win at first, I also want the best act to win and for that reason I think Faryl should win the show.
There is an element of "being born with it" for dancing as well. Some people have "two left feet" etc. You require a certain level of balance and coordination that some people don't have.
As for what he said about Paul Potts, it was his opinion and he gave it. He is paid tens of millions of pounds every year to give his opinions. He always calls it for someone to win, in American Idol 4 he called it for Carrie before the semi-final stages (about 12 weeks before she won!). Last week he said David Cook would win before the final, then changed his mind during it and said David Archuleta. Do you have any reason to think that when Simon says he thinks Faryl is hugely talented, he is lying?

Actually, I couldn't understand a word she sung and I didn't know the song. Did Faryl get any stick for that? No.”
All the most interesting and popular acts go last, for a variety of reasons. Getting them through to the final isn't the main one (they have already ensured that).
As for the song, Cowell could hardly sit there and say that it was a terrible song because Angelis, his child version of Il Divo, released that as their lead single. It's a fairly well known Sarah McLachlan song.

I think Simon's comments did correspond (I can't remember Piers and Amanda's

). I think there were clearly signs of huge talent, but we didn't see all that she was capable of.
