So let's assume your TV connection options are 1xRGB scart, 1xs-video/composite scart, 1xs-video front input. SKY+ to TV via RGB scart is a definite. DVD you want RGB scart if possible, else s-video. VCR can happily go composite (all you'll get). The traditional setup requires either a splitter to allow the DVD to share a scart, or DVD taking s-video front and SKY and VCR getting a scart each. But... you may be able to daisy-chain everything onto the one scart (DVD->VCR->SKY+->TV), and just have your TV show whatever device is in use. Worth trying (my Panasonic VCR seems to happily take over the SKY RGB scart when playing tapes, can't remember if I ticked some sort of scart control setting in the VCR menu).

Your best, and simplest, way is to buy a Vivanco SBX 95 DEC automatic scart connector. This will connect up to 4 devices via scart to your TV and it works percectly. You don't have to get out of your chair when changing devices as it is done automatically. They come with a 12volt psu.
I bought one from Makro a few weeks ago for about £22 including VAT. |

I have a similar setup but my DVD is S-Video and Composite only.
VCR AV1 to Sky VCR Scart. Sky to TV AV1 DVD S-Video to TV AV2 DVD Composite to VCR AV2 TV Switches to Sky automatically. When Video is on Sky switches to output video signal. I use TV remote to select AV2 for DVD |

connect the dvd to scart 1 of the tv. the second scart on the tv should output the video and audio signals of whatever channel the tv is tuned to at the time (ie. AV1 or channel 1etc). get a lead that has a scart plug on one end and 2 phono plugs on the other to connect to your amp and connect this to scart 2 of the tv.
nb. make sure the lead is configured for the sound to travel in the right direction as AUDIO L/R IN and AUDIO L/R OUT are on different pins of the scart plug. |
