"All of Scotland will be behind you." I'm sorry but this is one of the main reasons behind the disatorous X Factor result last year. Why are they turning it into a battle of the nations again? Andrew was imo good enough without that! And they only seem to do it with Scottish contenders as well and there's no need.

I agree. I really hope he does not beat Faryl or George. He was so bland and boring. He seems nice enough but I am not sure he would get very far on The X Factor.

I groaned when they trotted out the "you'll get the Scottish votes" line.

And it seems he did. I can't see why anyone else would vote for his dreary performance.

My dad said that Jeremy could have walked on stage and farted down the microphone and the Scots would still vote for him in their droves

Thats his opinion. Not mine!

lol! He's very right! And for some bizzare reason its encouraged, which i just don't understand. I personally will vote for who I think is best, not for someone just because they're English!

That line seriously irritates me too. I vote for who I like, not because they are Scottish. (No vote tonight as none were that good, in my opinion)

I have never held to this theory about votes being pro-Scottish, or any other nation for that matter. After all there are 8 million Londoners - did they all vote for the wee cockney comedian, even though he was about as funny as chronic constipation?

Im just hoping they don't pull this crap in the final. I don't think itl make much difference but i'l be very annoyed if he gets furthur than Kate and Gin because of this

I agree.
I think the reason this line is used (as annoying as it is) is because in shows like this (with the exception of last year) Scottish people dont tend to get a look in, either we dont do very well or in the case of BGT last year dont even bother coming up here!
In all fairness though in shows like this if a contestents Welsh they get the same treatment i.e Rhydian last year wanted to do it for Wales was told Wales was proud of him.

Discussing BGT at work today not one person liked Andrew the favorites were George, Kate and Gin and Strike were also popular. So to suggest that because the media use the "lets vote because hes Scottish" tactic every Scot reaches for the phone and votes is pathetic!

He didnt, he auditioned.

Its annoying when they say the whole of scotland will be behind you, it gives them an unfair advantage. English acts dont get- the whole of london or the whole of Birmingham so why do Scottish acts always exempt from this and encouraged to vote for their own?

His performance left me cold. Nothing special which is why I was shocked to the core when he was top three. What the hell?!

I really hope we dont get a fiasco like we did like the x-factor last year.

I've mostly answered this above, it irritates me because it doesnt paint a true picture I didnt like Andrew and I dont know anyone that does, my favorite acts are English! Besides the young boy who got bullied for singing I cant remember his name is originally from Carlisle but Scottish people are not told to get behind him. But then just because the media say vote him hes scottish doesnt mean it happens.

I like his voice but I hope they don't say that. It only encourages some people.

I'm glad that you can spot the right talent and I hope many people from Scotland are like you. It is just bloody annoying. It's like a UK-vision and well we really don't want that lol

Well I'm apologising in advance if Andrew turns up in a kilt on Saturday (oldest trick on the book on shows like this)

Sorry Andrew but Gins much better than you!

I'm fed up, as a Scot, being told on these type of shows who I'm apparently voting for. I don't vote these days, but I can assure you, I support who I do based on talent. Hence why I didn't like the MacDonald Brothers, Michelle McManus, Liam, Andrew etc lol.

I didn't think much of Andrew Muir either to be honest, but the judges obviously did. I would have thought Simon had higher standards than this. What's he playing at I wonder? I really don't think he would have put him through had this been the X-factor, so why's he given him the all clear tonight then? As for the standing ovation he got, that wasn't deserved at all in my opinion. The audience seemed to like giving people standing ovations tonight.

It annoys me when people automatically assume that because I live in Wales that i'm going to support a Welsh contestant. So I can understand how annoyed Scottish people would be of this Scottish vote theory.

I love in london and dont know one cockney person, London is an exception as it is just too big and diverse for people to be bothered, most of the time they dont even highlight the fact someone is from London.

I think people should be proud that they live somewhere where there is this kind of support shown to others. It must be a great feeling to know your whole city/country are behind you. saying that, I dont agree with voting for someone if theyre rubbish simply because of their nationality.

I think x factor was awful - going on about a battle between scots, welsh, english - it stirred up alot of animosity, clearly shown on many internet forums.

I thought that wee cockney comedian came from Billericay, not London, or am I confusing him with another comedian kid?

It is the same one - in the VT blurb he referred to himself as a cockney and being Scottish I assumed that he meant he was a Londoner
