Looking forward to the War Games as a pretty good epic all told.

That said how long do I have to wait for Zygons?

But surely there's got to be something special for November and the 45th anniversary! "Battlefield" certainly doesn't fit the bill.

And why is there never any December release?? You'd think they'd churn 'em out at this time for Xmas!!

I think Xmas is precisely the reason there isn't - they are afraid of the DW DVDs being swamped by all the big Xmas releases.

Does anyone have any idea if the remastered Remembrance of the Daleks will be released separately from the Davros boxset?

Thanks.

I saw The War Games years ago. I had a third or fourth generation VHS tape. At the time I loved anything Who. Now I'm not so sure I'd enjoy 5 straight hours of anything, even PT. I can't wait for it to make it to America, but I'll have to watch it in episode format, half an hour at a time.

Any updates on when this will get a DVD release?

It has been announced for this year, but not date yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if Terror of the Zygons and The Seeds of Doom are released together.

I agree with you, I'd love to see these two out on DVD. However, we don't have much to complain about, as a very large number of Tom Baker stories have already come out on DVD.

I'm saving up and hastily waiting for 'The War Games' before I buy any others (credit crunch and all that!). I've not even got Series 4 box-set yet....I always wait until it's come down in price at the end of the year.
Back to 'The War Games' - Pat Troughton was MY Doctor back then. And although it was a bit drawn-out, it was still a classic in my eyes (I was about 9 years old at the time).
PLUS it was the very first time we were introduced to the Time-Lords and found out where the Doctor came from (although the planet was never mentioned at the time).
And what a sad goodbye to Jamie & Zoe, and then finally the Doctor. I don't think any other 'end of season' story has ever ended with writing off the ENTIRE cast before!

I'd guess that means January 2009, but it's good news. The RT have been working on the picture quality for years, so it'll be interesting to see how good it looks.”

Hmmm ................ 10 months later and still no set release date. Its release has of course been confirmed here http://www.restoration-team.co.uk/ but with other releases definite for the next few months best guess is that it may not be out until late summer.

Still, for me it should be worth the wait

An extra for War Games was passed at the bbfc this week called 'The Trial of Doctor Who'. It's this lot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZvbM...eature=channel only doing The War Games and not Planet of the Dead.

Rarely do these guys get the release wrong unless 2entertain cock something up.

Delta and the Bannermen - Next
The War Games
The Keys of Marinus
Dalek War
and currently working on Black Guardian trilogy.

Other than Delta and the Bannermen (oh dear.....Ken Dodd!) pretty much a great line up!

All subject to the BBC's cockups now they are taking over 2entertain completely!

Still no sign of “THE KEY TO TIME” then

I count myself lucky I got Key to Time while I could.

Very excited about the Delta release. It's such fun, and has so many comparisons with the new series. Ken Dodd is brilliant for his couple of scenes. His death scene is both completely OTT and very cruel. Love that story.

Is there an actual timeline for releases yet? Is it Delta next? What comes afetr that?

Nope. Delta's out 22nd June, after that, who knows? Although I'd imagine if there is a July release, it'll be up on the online retailers soon.

I was wondering if The War Games was the DVD with the sock puppets on the extras! I saw the sock puppets last year, sdn they were very very funny.

The good news: The War Games is out on DVD on the 6th July.

The better news: the 3 disc set is only £12.99 on play.com! (other retailers are available)

Steve Roberts on the doctorwhoforum says that he thinks the £12.99 price might be wrong and to get the pre-order in now before it goes up.

I'm looking forward to getting this. Currently I'm stuck with my old UK Gold showing, that includes poor quality middle episodes, eg. when the Doctor and friends are stuck in a Sidrat about to be squashed by the War Chief and the picture quality goes from very good to terrible.

Understand they'll be sourcing much improved copies from the BFI, along with those held by the BBC.

DWM 409 is listing the RRP as £19.56, play.com are listing it as £19.99, so plays £12.99 price may be correct.
