One of the plants i have (the Sunburst) has vertical pods.

I have about 10 chillis growing so far and there are still loads of flowers on both the plants. I am not sure what the other one is doing (the Dorset Naga). It's a completely different type of leaf and is more shorter and bushier, it hasn't started flowering yet so will just have to wait and see what happens.

2 pics of the Cayenne:

I like the Sunburst one, might try something like that next year. Your Cayenne is nearly like mine, but it seems the pods I have a longer; though its hard to tell without anything to judge it by.

Here a pic of my 'curly one', might be worth just trimming it off to help promote other growth; but I think its kind of cool.

My index finger is nearly 3 inches long, so gives you an idea of how long these pods are.

That's the seriously hot one isn't it - I'd be interested in bartering a wee seed trade with you for that one if possible? pm me if so - I can offer up mystery chilli seeds in return (I should have an identity once the fruit is big enough - they're reasonably hot ones (nowt like the naga of course) and are hardy wee things - I've even grown them outdoors up here!).

Yeah, once/if it ever starts to fruit I will be up for some seed trading. It's slower than the others.

I like my chillis hot so got this as an experiment. I'll probably end up making some chilli sauce or chutney out of that one.

My plants all had aphids
didn't realise until I decided to look at a flower to see what it looked like - crawling with aphids.
Managed to nuke them with spray though so the flowers are growing well but still no fruit yet

Aww sheddy, I had problems with aphids last year (it was my first attempt, quite offputting, but I still got fruit in the end ), give it a couple of weeks now and if the spray hasn't cleared them, try wiping the plant(s) down with slightly soapy water (a little squirt of washing up liquid works best).

Cheers Gogfumble that really would be fantastic if possible, I'd really like to expand my little collection to include some different varieties and the hotter the better really - though I suppose I should try and ID these bad boys first!

I've finally managed to get my camera working again, so here's some piccies of mine:

Should be a good crop

Thanks to this thread I started to grow some from a chilli I cooked. I've now got four big plants and they are growing fruit!
How do you know when to pick them? And do you cut or pull them off?
