Are all the singers definitely singing live?

I ask because it looked to me last night as if Andrew Muir was miming at the beginning of his song - it looked as if he mimed the wrong words.........does anyone know? - surely they ought to be live.......

I doubt they would allow any miming as it would give an unfair advantage to the other non-singing acts like the football juggler.

I'm sure they're all singing live.

I have some serious suspicions that there is some miming going on!

Seeing as they don't use backing singers then they probably have backing tracks. American Idol just have a live band with singers instead but it seems that the Syco budget doesn't stretch that far.

I am pretty convinced they have backing tracks.

And the backing tracks include a live-type recording of themselves.

Not sure Andrew was on Tues - because it looked live. He looked incredibly nervous before he started and it affected him until he relaxed a bit. You wouldn't be able to mime that into a recording.

I actually hate it because I don't always sing the same thing the same way more than once.
