hes getting who we pick......end of story [/quote]
true, but in HDYS... didn't they have a clause in there to safegaurd them if it is someone they didn't want.

as in- Connie was, but she started on a smaller schedule until she was ready. I would think, they would have something similar in this. they would have a back up, and a clause in the contract to eventually get what they want.

O_o

I don't like the attack on Jodie, but to deny that she's overweight would be a massive stretch of the imagination! I don't think it should make a bit of difference for her in the role, but denial doesn't help anything ...

The contract is Dec to May09

Is it a dangerous subject for Cameron to comment on?

Does this help/hinder kids who suffer eating problems.

Is he the most responsible person to be telling others how they should look.

Is an average size not acceptable in MT?.

what are your thoughts. ?”

That is just silly and is not what he said. He just said he would prefer a slimar and younger woman for the part. Its his production and he knows what he is personally looking for in Nancy

He is not telling anyone how they should look.

He has not told Jodie or anyone else how they should look. He has just said he see Nancy as a slim young girl in his production. It his show and his view. He has not told anyone to loose weight though.

Jodie is actually thinner than the average size in this country. This makes CMs comments even more skewed.
Katie.

No its not his show. He is paying for it, big diff.

I don't think he is waging war against anyone.

I understand he's a gay bloke. Cam.
So here's my bit of stereotyping! Gay men are misogynistic and don't have any time for womanly women. They prefer the boyish types.

Rant, rave, discuss.

JB has said publically that he loves big women (it was on Loose Women last year - how sad am I???)

JB, maybe.
But isn't Cam gay too?

I'm gay. I'm supporting Jodie. Prior to their departures, I also supported Francesca, Keisha, Sarah and Rachel, none of which could be called "boyish".

Any WE/Broadway role requires performers to take very good care of themselves. Aside from eating properly they need to get enough sleep and exercize to do 8-10 shows a week.

Connie Fisher was already a slender thing when she started SOM but went down two sizes and had to cut back to 6 shows a week. Lee Mead and Craig Chalmers aren't skinny guys but they work out and eat well to keep up with their "Joseph" shows. (Craig has been known to taking on 12 shows a week at times!) So pro or not, stamina is crucial to anyone in this career.

I think if Jodie wins then she will have several months to hone her singing/acting skills and get into good shape for the role. I would be more concerned if a younger candidate wins because it's a lot to push onto girls who are still in their teens. But I don't think CM should have made those comments. The other Nancys haven't had to endure a grinding trial of losing 11 stone. Jodie has accomplished a lot so far and whether or not she's Nancy, I'm impressed with her endurance.

The professionals don't take on these roles until they're trained. It is too big an ask for Jessie and Sam.
Jodie may not be trained but she does have more general experience than the younger girls.

Plus Craig has all the touring to handle too........very punishing......

Jodie has done more and can do more than any of them.......she has proved herself.

Connie was also the least fit in HDYSAPLM. size means nothing when it comes to fitness. do you remember the misison with Connie gasping and coming last. Jodie doing all those fitness tasks in biggest loser has made her more fit than most girls.

I think the backlash is ridiculous. God forbid the person whose livelihood is currently depending on the show would have an opinion about who stars in it.

Thanks, Eponine. That's my essay in a nutshell. Piper also made a good point about Connie on the feat tasks. Great performer but give the girl a pillow, some oatmeal, and a long restful nap!

When I saw "Joseph" in the WE I realized the brothers--all built differently--were literally bouncing off the walls with energy. So regardless of size I'm sure they all know what to expect from the show. I got a hug from James Bisp (Asher) and nearly got a paper cut--he's that skinny! But he performs well. And he eats bananas. Bananas are good for you.
