All i'll say is on Tuesday, when Simon put the Cheeky Monkeys through, i was sure he was going to put the other group through...he kept saying group, not pair, but seemed swayed by a member of the audience shouting. Suspicious? Probably not but...
Okay no you may not forget but I also think going on first has disadvantages in other ways, most acts will say it is more nervewracking to open a show than close it or go on even second.
The short clips they show at the end would never be enough really, especially on dance acts, or magicians now would they!

Not forget as such but it can diminish the initial impact of an act and impetus to vote.
If someone slaps you around the face, then in the heat of the moment you are likely to react and slap back..if you're forced to wait an hour you will likely have cooled down and let it go.
In the same way if an act you see makes an impact and the lines are already open then you are likely to pick up the phone and vote straight away and multiple times.. but if you have to wait an hour then the impact will be diminished and the impetus to vote is dampened.
This is the advantage of performing last when there are only 10 minutes to vote....when that last act has performed you can vote immediately at the time when their impact on you is at its greatest and your impetus to vote is at its greatest.
