I do think he assumed he'd got some sort of "golden ticket" to the final.
He actually looked a bit distraught to me when he realised he was going home on the bus.
The people around these kids should stop pumping them up. Comedy is a bl**d*ng jungle for adults, let alone kids with a style that died with Bernard Manning.
I thought that he looked disappointed, which would be natural from a 13 year old kid, when Jeremy's name was called because he then knew that he was out of the competition.
I know, the jokes were bad, he made them average, it's hard to take to a comedian, especially whe their jokes aren't the best but he delivers them well and seems confident.

Charlie goes to my school and although he can seem quite full of himself, from what the teachers say and when i was doing a workshop with his year 8 class last month, he seemed quite genuine and the teachers think he is a great boy!
