I really think that the camera work is not doing these dance acts justice, especially the street dancers as what they do really needs to be seen full front on to see how they are moving together to create shapes.
I cant help but think that this has contributed to some of the dance acts not going through. The cameras keep sweeping the stage and showing it from the back of the theatre and close ups. A few is fine but its too dis-jointed. Anyone else think that it is harming the acts chances? |

I totally agree with you OP. I made a comment about this in the main show thread... The camera angles made parts of that last dance act look crap. It really needed to keep still, but it was just totally ridiculous!

Really, the director should be shot. It's really, really bad. This isn't the X Factor, boys, you need to see what they're doing.

Now Nemisis are through i think this camera work issue must be addressed or it is equivelent to having the sound low when Escala play or that kid sings. Its not right, id love nemisis to win, Simon was right, there is so much bad press with kids now we should be supporting such determination and talent whole heartedly.
But i fear Escala will win....... |

I agree. It is so frustrating trying to watch the acts when the camera is dancing around more than the performers.
Really does my head in. |

We can't just blame the camera operators..... for all we know they may be creating excellent shots....but the director just chosing and repeatedlly using the rubbish ones! After all it's the director that calls the shots. Or it could just be a very mixed up vision mixer that cant do their job properly and presses the first button they see on the mixing desk.

They have been terrible all week. Why do I want to look at the judges when the acts are performing???
Poor dance acts really suffered from stupid producers/editors Last edited by Cassie : 30-05-2008 at 22:47. Reason: typo |

I agree, and on Signature as well, that made me cross I dont want to see the crowd thanks, show them afterwards. Dance has to be shown from the right angle, not all over the shop, as it then loses its appeal and pace and vibe for the TV viewer, so someone go shot them all tomorrow...
Lets hope someone with some sense tomorrow watches the rehearsals and makes sure the camera stays on the act and not the audience, and that they stop all this jumping all over the place with it. |

I have been moaning about the useless camera work since the auditions
click here http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=778781 the camera peeps move faster than the dancers , but when a singer is on the zoom a bit pan a bit , but when a troop is on they sky dive from the back of the theatre , show us Piers nose, the dancers groins etc I would actually like to CLAMP the cameramen/women to a fixed spot when a dance routine is being shown.. |
