Strike are not my type honey! but they are fit, and if I were wanting them to win it would be for their performance which I think was great, but not great enough maybe.
aah i see, i do think escala are very very talented too though

Jolly well ding dong for plummy accents, ha what? The tall blonde IS stunning, but the shorter brunnete does it for me! Tally ho.

Maybe! But who cares, who do you fancy most in Escala is an essential debate.

What makes me cross is the way the judges talk about this kind of act as original, enthusing, looking gobsmacked as if it has never happened before.

What about "Bella Rumore" in the USA

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...5-cf7041a07680

or "Maske" in Australia

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...e-bb48775266e0

It is not even original to the UK, "Bond" have been around for years.
I'm glad someone else has noticed that they're blatantly ripping off Bond (http://www.bondmusic.net/ - they're much better looking in my opinion too!) Incidentally, Bond never did hit the 'big time' in the UK, although they do well overseas.

There's also a plethora of attractive, female string quartets working the circuit in the UK (siren are another one - http://www.thesirenquartet.com/) - they can usually be found miming to pop songs/videos, and earn large amounts of money for doing so. For that reason, I'm behind the less fortunate entrants of BGT. Privileged musicians, who have had benefited from an expensive music education don't really deserve a place on the show in my eyes.

My main problem with them in the semi final, and by the way how can you have five semi finals, was that I wasn't sure what was them and what was the backing track.

I was listening carefully for the string instruments i must admit, but you definitely could hear them. I think any round of cometition prior to deciding a winner can be called a semi-final regardless how ever many there are.

The backing was way way too loud and had been on other nights when singers sung as well.

They need no backing track if they are good enough to be honest with you, go and check out their video on youtube not the BGT ones the other one on the beach!! now they will all run off like little sheep, but it is there! well it was this after noon anyway

Why did Simon Cowell say they were totally original ...................surely he must have heard of Bond ? The backing track seemed very loud and probably contained complimentary strings..................I would have preferred to hear them without any backing to judge just how good they were.

Sorry but apart from being fed up of being told who should win and who the show is set up for to win, am I the only one that could hardly hear any of their instruments due to the HEAVY backing track.

How could anyone say they were brilliant with such a loud backing track

I heard a little bit when two of the lovely ladies looked at each other next to each other and played but apart from that the music was all pre-recorded backing music.
... the whole show production team need a serious lesson in "Live Show Management" the Americas Got Talent team should fly over for before season 3 starts here and show them how to :

operate a camera
do an audience sound check
press a CD player button
zoom in / out when told
etc etc

the whole week has been shite and thats not just an opinion...

the sound quality on youtube is better!!!

I dont know how good they were really - for all we know there was a backing track and they were just standing there!

It did not come across to me that they were playing acoustically which would have been better

maybe there should be no backing tracks for any of the acts then so we can see just had good or bad people sing etc -

My only issue with Escala is that winning this would hardly be "life-changing" for them. They toured with Take That last year... They have already played to an audience of 20000 several times at the O2... Don't get me wrong, they are fab, but they must already have all the contacts they need... someone must have arranged for them to play with TT...

Just like the Paul Potts fiasco last yr, making out he was a nobody, working in a phone shop... They "forgot" to mention he'd already sang with Pavarotti...

Escala have still had to work hard playing corporate gigs to get where they are. Paul Potts had lessons of arguably the most famous opera singer of them all so had advantage. Escala to win!

Just irritated me that both Piers and Simon said Escala were original. I would have thought that Simon at least might have heard of Bond, who have been described as the best selling string quartet of all time, and who are currently working on a fourth album set to be released towards the end of the year.

Absolutely agree. They are favourites of mine, based on their audition, where you could hear every instrument clearly. Yes last night they looked great, had the moves and the big number, but the main point - to actually hear them play was completely lost. Really disappointed.
