Do you think the performing order tomorrow will decide it?

All the semis this year have been won by the last performing act. Even last year, the last people perfoming won each show. It could well be the same tomorrow.

I don't think anything is set in stone tomorrow night. The last act has won every night this week because there has nearly always been a clear difference in talent that allows the producers to put the right person in the final slot. It's not because they were last that they got to the final (unless you read the Daily Star).

Tomorrow night, George (who won on the night with the most votes), Faryl (Simon's favourite?), Escala (Simon's favourite?) and probably Andrew, Signature (if they do something good) and maybe even Kate and Gin all have a shot.

I think Faryl will get the closing slot if she has a big song to sing. But there is going to be one hour and fifteen minutes to vote tomorrow and everyone knows these acts. We've seen them all twice before and they all have stories. This "fresh" in the mind theory applies even less tomorrow night.

I just know that if Faryl does win, this board will be filled with people whining that it was all a big conspiracy.

There is going to be over an hour for people to get their votes in. Maybe people will feel less rushed and more considered over the voting choice, not just who is freshest in their memory

Agree with all those comments, although I think Faryl has a very good chance of winning as she seems to be the one they want to win. The main difference between tomorrow and the other shows is that we have had a week of live performances and most of these acts are still fresh in the mind and most people will have favourites marked down now anyway.

Being the last could make a difference if more viewers tune in tomorrow than has done this week but I don't think it is such an advantage that it means that contestant would definetely win. For example, I don't think Strike, Alex Muir or Nemesis have a chance tomorrow.

but tomorrow night is there not about an hour where the phone lines are open? Rather then the usual 10 minutes.
IF they put 3 fantastic acts all after each other at the end it might end up not being as obvious as we all think.

The only dodgy decision was Signature. I doubt if they would even have qualified from any other group.

My prediction is he will give you the required subliminal instructions to vote Escala to win and you will obey.

Faryl is a possible project for later and he will probably continue to work with her.

The only other option is that the dog wins it.

I wonder why the voting favours the last act in BGT but not in other shows. Order doesn't seem to have an effect in The X Factor

They could easily have an independent adjudicator National Lottery style and determine the running order randomly before the show, and that would rid all controversy from the off. Of course they'd never do that because it might actually be fair.

You don't make good and successful TV "randomly".

You wouldn't expect to go into a shop and find the products just thrown in randomly. Well, to the producers, the timeslot is the shop and the contestants are the products.

For me and I assume many others that is the best idea I have heard, as sorry it should be a fair draw, and the contestants surely would then feel it was fair and the public.

I couldn't give a toss about what ITV think. If they're subjectively differentiating between acts before the fact then they should be stopped from making money from it by implying it's a free vote.

But it is a free vote. Nobody is forced to vote in any particular way. All the contestants perform once and their numbers are shown at the end of their performances.

The phone lines for all the contestants are opened at the same time and all their numbers broadcast immediately across the bottom of the screen followed by a recap of all the performances at the next available opportunity.

The net result is a phone vote carried out which complies with regulations and the most entertaining show possible with the highest ratings possible.

Well maybe then you can tell me why I am positive the phone lines were NOT open for the same amount of time tonight as other nights? as surely that is a form of rigging things, especially if things were looking like they may get a result they were not wanting!

It's hardly free and fair if they dictate the terms by way of the best "product" - they're altering it to their opinion. They're even obvious about it, you don't need to be a psychologist to know that people will most likely remember more of the last act than the first.

Also I'm glad you have such faith in ITVs compliance with phone voting regulations.
