Very skeptical of this thread, personally I have information on a completely different 'hot topic' (burning, actually) but would never post it on a public forum.

I don't honestly know what her position is called and what it involves completely as to be honest as she is reasonably secreative about it. All I know is that lots of highlighly confidential and important information passess through her hands and that she is at Director level although is not officially a director at the moment. The title is due to follow shortly. If her job involves dealing with all the companies etc you spoke about then that might explain some of the secrecy. She talked about it once but I got a bit lost and what is even sadder is that I worked in recruitment for over 10 years. After re-reading your original post I realised that had she explained that to me as part of her job I would have got lost so perhaps it is. Otherwise maybe she is higher up but in a similar department. Who knows? I guess I could ask her but I don't want to make her too uncomfortable and also if I reveal too much info about her I could get her into trouble as I would imagine that as in most cases there are a limited amount of senior female executives and I also mentioned her main passion on the site so they could figure out who it was. If I find out anything of real interest that doesn't make her feel uncomfortable I will pm you. Hope that deal is ok.

As for people saying that this will make people vote for Jodie more, if that was my intention I would have said that Jodie was in a close 2nd place. Putting her in a possible third place surely makes people less likely to vote, I know I questioned whether to vote or not and to be honest if I didn't have money riding on it and the fact that I like her so much I probably wouldn't bother. I'm guessing it has to be Jessie fans that think it is a ploy for more Jodie votes. Actually the person who probably would benefit most from this post is Sam as we now know in all likely hood that she would have been in 2nd place without the phone vote problem.

Anyway I don't want to affect anyone's votes. I have my favourite as does everyone else but I will also watch the show tonight and base it on that. Particuarly if Jodie does come in third and I feel either Sam or Jessie have really proven themselves then I will want to vote on that talent and growth to win.

I will only pm you two though as otherwise I might as well publicly advertise it. I would take Betfair`s odds with a giant pinch of salt...............they had Rhydian as odds on favourite to win all the way through X Factor (when as it turns out he did not win the public vote each week) and in the final week his odds went to a ridiculous 1/8 - a foregone conclusion everyone thought.............and we all know what happened on the night

I don't really mind who wins anymore. If I were to see the show I would have liked to see Jodie or secondly, Jessie, as Nancy. Sam just seems to be far too young and beautiful to be Nancy.
Sam is, in my opinion, the best singer of the three but I am sure she also has the best chance of securing another more of a leading lady type role elsewhere.

Sorry this post is nonsensical - what do you mean "clear leader each week" when the "clearest lead" was only 9%? Are you saying 3 or 5% leads would have been "clear"?

I suspect you have "sort of" accurate information. Note that ALW spoke of a "clear leader" for 2-3 weeks in his newsbeat interview - Jessie and then said that now we do not have a clear leader as Jessie had "not come through". I think your info is probably correct but old.

It also tells you Jessie could only manage a small 7% lead while singing her best and as ALW said himself, she hasn't got any better or developed as he hoped.

Indeed that would be pointless - although presumably your friend would've known which contestants were floating near the bottom each week and who were likely to be up for the chop the week after. Anyone coming in third from the bottom would have been likely to be in the bottom two the following week.

Don't take it personally - it's actually very sensible for any forum member to take information with a pinch of salt unless a source has been proved.

You were given the voting percentages necessary for those figures to be correct and they just seem impossible. No offence, but to me it seemed you were either being a little disingenuous and trying to scare Jodie fans into voting dozens of times...or perhaps maths is just not your strong point ?

To be fair on this, the OP did state that she failed GCSE maths. Put simply:
Imagine the green goddess has her biggest lead. (9%).
Put her say at 40%.
Then imagine IOS in second (as the OP implied). This gives her 31%.
By simple subtraction, this gives the remaining girl 29%.

If these percentages were anyway near correct (and that's a big if) the girl in first place would be gaining 90,000 more votes than her nearest rival per million cast.

e.g. for 3 million votes:
1. 1,200 000 votes
2. 930 000 votes
3. 870 000 votes

By the way, I'm sure most of you could work this out for yourself, I'm not trying to be patronising! Also, it's probably rubbish anyway, but it was just a small attempt to put into hypothetical figures what a 9% lead could mean. As Peter Snow says on election night - "Remember, this is just a bit of fun, just a bit of guesswork..."

It shouldn't matter that the lines went down the Isle of Man last week. People should be voting for the best Nancy, not just the one who lives the nearest to them! Sam has an unfair advantage because she probably has a whole island voting for her, while people from Jessie's home country aren't allowed to vote!

I wouldn't think that anyone at the BBC would know the exact voting figures, especially so soon after the voting has taken place! The phonelines are operated by a company outside (and independant of) the BBC!

IOM lines did not go down................it was one mobile phone company out of 4 on the island and it came up before voting lines closed.......there was only 100 complaints. The land lines were fine. there are 76,000 on the island..im sure they were not all voting for Sam. As do the Scots not all vote for Ashley.

Even if this is true I think the vote could be totally different this week. There are people who only vote in the final. I voted for the first time myself last week...for Rachel. I was away when she was in the bottom two before so hadn't realized she was in danger.

Sounds interesting but I won't trust it. The only way we'll know if there is an inch of truth is when the result is revealed tonight.
