Hey there

I have a question....does UK DVD's work here in the US? My sister is sending me the Royle Family DVD cos i cant get it here and was wondering if i will have any problems playing it. Or would i need to buy a converter of some sort?

Any help i would appreciate very much

Thankyou and god bless you all

i think your tv needs to be pal compatable
and your dvd player needs to play region 2

Most likely they won't work on a domestic USA dvd player as PAL (region2) isn't generally viewable / playable on most american TV's / DVD players...

I have seen some USA tv and videos that can play back PAL but they're not common....

However, they should play on a PC with DVD rom.... you'll have to let the PC play region 2 and it then won't play region 1 USA dvds and you can only swap from region 1 to region2 about 5 times before the DVD player stays on the 5th setting.
