I'm almost certain it wasn't there only a few days ago- if it was, I was very blind and did not notice it at all. I think it must have appeared in the last couple of days.

If I were one of the girls in the final, I'd be majorly peeved at that.

she isn't good enough to play nancy as she can't act - let alone a more demanding role!

But in all honesty sam and jessie quite simply could not do 8 shows a week - actually jessie, maybe, jodie probably could, sam no way

My translation of the website is...

We won't know until nearer opening night how good or bad the winning Nancy is going to be in the role, or exactly how many shows a week she will be capable of. So we will only commit to her appearing as few times as we can think we can get away with without losing face or severely ****ing off the public who will be wanting to buy tickets to see her. That way if she is rubbish we'll limit the damage as much as possible. On the other hand she might actually be rather good at the role, in which case we'll milk her for all she is capable of.

If Sam were to win I'd have concerns about her voice holding out but not for the others.

not really, i don't know about ADWD because Lee had so much experience, but it was the same with Connie.

they would really be stupid not to have a clause like this in the contract. the people buying the tickets aren't necessarily the ones voting or from a forum. it is a business at the end of the day.

Plus the fact she only has 1 facial expression and cannot act at all is a HUGE worry!

The winner gets a matinee.
Monday and Tuesday nights. Friday night.

Now for me the big night is Saturday. I'd be very disappointed as the winner not to get the Saturday. The atmosphere is good on a Friday but Saturday is definitely best.

Interesting!

but not surprising. it was all to be this way from the beginning, so all of this "good for eight shows a week" lark was baloney.

If they had a star on their hands then they'd have her on for the maximum they could get away with.

I think this proves it's Jessie.

Yeah, it's perplexing that the Nancy isn't performing on the Saturday evening as that is surely the busiest night of the week, and a lot of people around the country can only make it at the weekend...

it wouldn't matter who, this is the way were going to start it, regardless. just like before with Connie, they have previews as well, to test it all out.

no, they don't put it up until later on, because if people know (i remembered it from last time so just assumed a repeat) right away, they will think the show is a farce. can you imagine if the judges said "she is soooo strong and can handle four shows a week"

I think a lot of people would be disappointed with this. I personally haven't booked tickets but have friends who have, and they are expecting to see the winner of IDA when they go to see Oliver - they'll be mighty disappointed if they don't.

If I go expecting the winner (Jessie, hopefully) and it wasn't her and it was one of the other Nancies or some understudy, I'd be tempted to walk out. What a fail.

i'd be disappointed if it wasnt the winner, but if another nancy contestant did the other shows i wouldnt mind - it might work out better because i would get to watch my fave

Couldn't agree more and shows that the teenage winner they want they already have a lack of faith in

no it doesn't. it would be this way even if say Fran and Rachel were in the final. it is the way it is set up. just that Fran and Rach would have graduated to more shows quicker.

And they get Aoife's 2 slots not 4 of Connie's - doesn't exactly show high confidence ..........

Or that Jodie is so bland they don't think they can sell tickets on a Saturday with her.

Its just as likely to be Sam whose voice needs protecting or Jodie who has the least star quality to pull in Saturday audiences and also has had questions raised about her voice holding up.

More interestingly it suggest that they are happy to put the main shows of the week on with the 42 year old Nancy which puts an end to the argument they really really want a young Nancy.

It may just be a defensive move as they may get someone they don't want and won't know for 6 months how things will work out. If it doesn't work the winner may develop a sore throat and end up doing Wednesday afternoons when the moon is full........

if they watched HDYSAPLM and really knew about the way it worked, they would have known about it anyway.

Blimey this is all news to me. I hadn't noticed this thread earlier, I just stumbled across it looking for another one.

I booked my tickets the day they went on sale (bless me ) so that announcement certainly wasn't on the website then.

If Sam had won (or if in another life Fran had got as far as she should have done) I would have been very miffed (to say the least) if I'd booked for one of the days the winner isn't scheduled to perform.

As it is I've booked for a Friday so probably will end up seeing Jodie.. I just hope I wouldn't rather see wheoever ends up doing the other shows

I'm genuinely surprised about the lack of a Saturday performance - they were the most difficult dates to get tickets for so must have sold out very quickly - with people surely expecting to see the winner?

I'd be really ****ed off if i'd already booked tickets to later find out Jodie won't be Nancy on the night after all
