How does it work? Does 3rd place, 2nd etc get to sing the song and have the locket taken off, or does that not happen in the final? I've never watched the Maria or Joseph ones.

There's a couple of other threads about the format and voting, but i guess when 3rd place gets voted out she will sing As long as... at end of the part one show.
Somehow i doubt that the runner up/2nd place will get to sing As long as... as by then we will have a winner.
Maybe winner will sing it, which means that 2nd place could be the only one not to get the big song finale...

When they did HDYSAPLM, after the 3rd place contestant sang the farewell song (obv, tonight it would be ALAHNM), the show returned for the results, and the two remaining Maria's sang songs from the Sound of Music, but neither of them sang the farewell song (as far as I can remember, but I could be wrong!!) Don't know about tonight though, coz obviously ALAHNM is one of Nancy's anthems, whereas the farewell song for HDYSAPLM was not (it was "So Long, Farewell")....so I'm not sure to be honest!! it would be good though if the winner got to sing ALAHNM, but like you say, maybe a little unfair to the 2nd place contestant, being the only one not to sing it.

I'd expect reality tonight, at this stage Siobhan was told by ALW, you could be Maria in a year
not because of her performance but because they wanted Connie.
Cameron is the most powerful producer there is, No from him, I think means no.
The other factor is the length of voting time, if people can vote straight away it puts a different
perspective on this.
