Phantom of the Opera II & Rachel
Bob22A
31-05-2008
Rachel has revealed that Lloyd Webber told her he had other roles in mind for her, including the Phantom of the Opera Part II.

And she told how judges Denise Van Outen and John Barrowman both broke down and cried after she was booted out of the competition.

Andrew came up to me afterwards and said he had had a really tough decision to make and that he was sorry.

He also said that he was doing some type of workshop on Phantom of the Opera II and asked me would I be interested in taking part. I'm not quite sure what he has in mind, but we'll see.

"I genuinely believe this experience will open doors for me."

"I was delighted with my performance and thought it was the best I've ever done but it just wasn't to be," she said.

that is so camp and unprofessional of them. first the holding hands and probably being so pissed when Jessie was saved and now this?! i know Rachel should have been saved, but breaking down? if you cannot be impartial at this stage, at the very least not show your emotion, you should not be a judge! grrrrrrrrrrrr

But they were doing this after and so their impartiality would not have an effect.I agree that beforehand they have to be impartial.

it is still unprofessional afterward as well imo. there are other girls left in the competition. and this being written about means it was seen and is awful.

Let them be human! It was offstage so won't hurt anyone, unless you're on DS a lot like me...otherwise I'd never have known about it!

People have ridiculous expectations that the judges shouldn't be allowed to have favourites, but they're meant to give feedback on who they like and dislike, they can bloody well have an emotional reaction if they want.

She comes across as a genuinely nice girl who is very gracious.
I hope the show does open doors for her.

They can't all be saintly - how boring would that be? I like them warts and all.

i am certainly not against emotional reactions whatsoever, or favouritism if it is done properly. i don't think there is anything wrong with a song moving a judge or making them give emphatic praise at all.

Spot on, and I mean come on, did anyone watch that sing-off, it was unbelievable. Probably the best I think I've seen (Seamus v Ben was also astounding I think).

Rachel gave them everything they asked for last week, whether you think she deserved to go or not. Couple that with the sing-off and a great ALAHNM, well even I had a few tears

Rachel's exit from IDA was fabulous. I would certainly go to see anything that Rachel is in.

Has anyone stopped to think 'Phantom of the Opera II, what a terrible idea?'
