What did you guys think? I thought it was a real treat - it just shows how much better MT songs are. Thought all three Olivers were excellent. Must say I wasn't paying too much attention to the Nancys.

Jessie & Gwion's was my favourite too, although that might be because of Gwion more than Jessie (from whom I didn't quite see that chemistry Cameron was talking about?). Thought Laurence was delightful with Jodie too.

That was my view as well. I thought young Gwion played Jessie off the stage and really highlighted her inadequacies. I loved Jodie and would like to see how she would work with Gwion.

jessie and gwion were fantastic. it was the most natural magical performance out of them all for me - GO JESSIE as CM said she was born to play nancy and i couldn't agree more.

Come on girl you can do it!!!!!!!!!

I agree Jessie and Gwion were absolutely lovely. I thought they complimented each other beautifully, Jessie's movement has improved greatly, she has obviously been working on it over the last few weeks. Loved her solo number. Jodie also did well tonight

but

Go Jessie

Gwion and Jessie really were fabulous. I absolutely loved their duet.
Gwion is just so tiny, he's adorable! He made that song what it was tonight. I so need to persuade my friend to want to see him as Oliver when we go.

I have voted for Jessie tonight. Was shocked to see the other girl had gone as I missed it last week.

I'm with you

Jessie and Gwion were incredible but have to admit Jodie and Laurence came in very close second but was quite disappointed with Sam & Harry

Jessie and Gwion stood out! Wow! Amazing! Also liked Jodie and Laurence, although Jodie 'overdid' it a bit. Harry and Sam were each doing their own thing, I thought.

I do however think that should have had the Nancy's and Olivers do more duets together over the course of the series. I feel it's rather important for the role of Nancy that she connects with children. If there would have been more duets, we might have been watching a entirely different final tonight, imo.

Why are there two threads for the same topic? Can they be merged?

Sam and Harry's duet was awful and I reckon that's what lost Sam a win in the end. They were both really flat and had no chemistry at all.

Jodie and Laurence sang well but the chemistry wasn't there either.

Jessie and Gwion were easily the best. There was actually chemistry there and it felt natural.

I think ALW hit the nail on the head when said Gwion had a "loveable" quality. He's absolutely adorable, and sang like a wee angel. Laurence and Jodie were really good too.

Harry sounded quite weak in his duet, it's sad to say. I think he might have taken a place more deserved by somebody else.

I still feel Harry should be Dodger, but that's a different discussion entirely

Cameron also likes Gwion - he is a sweet wee boy with lovely smiling eyes!

I LOVED Jodie and Laurence's duet. It was sooo sweet. I had tears in my eyes (I'm sad!)- I thought they had chemistry

Jessie and Gwion were good, but I spent the whole time watching thinking of all the manipulative things that the choregrapher had put into the performance (the piggy back, good mix of movement that suited Jessie ie 'not dancing' but generally being 'quirky' and fooling around') so I felt a bit knarked.

Gwion and Jessie were fantastic. They had the best chemistry-creating song, I think, they were SOOOOO good.

Nancy is more quirky than polished dancer anyway so Jessie did what I think was best for the role as well

Yes, it looked like Harry and Sam were basically doing their own thing - not much interaction or chemistry between those two. Harry did have bundles of chemistry with Sarah though in "Together" so maybe they just don't work together as a pair.

I thought Laurence was the star in the Laurence/Jodie duet - I could hear her getting a bit out of breath and she was a little over the top/a tad patronising.

I have to rewatch Jessie/Gwion to see if Jessie did have any chemistry with Gwion, though. I thought she looked a little forced at the start but I must say I was looking at Gwion all the way through the routine that I didn't really notice her! I do think that Jessie got the best song and the best choreography (and probably the most distinct) Oliver as well though, to her favour...
