God that was awful!!

Whoever told Andrew Muir he could sing must need their ears testing. God that was terrible. How to murder a classic on national television.

I don't think I have ever heard a good version of Imagine. Why even bother attempting to do it justice?

He said himself he did not want to do the song.

Stitched up by the producers.

Very suspect indeed. A very poor choice of song.

Just awful - I hate that song anyway. He should have done a David Gray, he's much more suited to that style.

I don' t think the song made much difference. He is not good enough. Thats why he failed on Pop Idol and The X Factor.

It wasn't that bad. This guy is an ordinary bloke who has no chance of winning. Could they not at least have been a little bit nicer?

Clearly they don't want him to win

i think BGT have a lot to answer for in that one statement - he did not choose the song and did not want to perform it.

busted!

Seems ITV are up to their old tricks again. If he did not want to sing that song, why did he have to? Do the producers think he is a threat to Faryl

It did seem a little funny
"I didn't want to do that song"
"but you did"
"It was out of my hands"

Seems like a bit of a stitch up for him. Whilst on the subject of funny, I found it weird that Flava got dug up for the mask's falling off during a semi final, but when a member of nemesis lost her hat during a final, it goes unmentioned

David Archuletta on American Idol did the song well and made it his own so it can be done. but I do not think it was suitable for Andrew's voice, he shoudl have done a David Gray/Jack Johnson type of song

It's an interesting glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes - I'm glad he told the truth there, the producers will not be happy about that but he knew he'd blown it so he had nothing to lose. I'm sure all these things are stitch-ups anyway, there's too much money involved, it always comes down to that in the end.

(I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when they forced him to sing that - horrible song that it is - I wonder if he tried to fight back and what they threatened him with if he didn't sing it? They sound like a bunch of manipulative Nazis to me.)

Simon's face was a peach when poor Adrew Muir told the world he didn't want to sing that song. (imagine) and "it was out of his hand's"

Shame on you ITV.

Andrew may not have the best range i've ever heard but he does have a distinctive style and should have been given the chance to sing a style that suits his voice.

The deceitful production of these programmes makes me sick. The endless sob stories, the way they ensure they get the acts they want through - the way their favoured performer goes near the end (no chance the dog winning, there's no money in that), they let the judges choose one from two to ensure their commercial interest gets through, the unconvincing 'judge 1 goes for act a, judge 2 goes for act b, oh my god it's so exiciting, who will simon choose' nonsense.

In the American one they chose to stitch up some poor girl in this way too. The winner of the first series, Bianca Ryan was a young girl with a big voice. Another young singer came in the second series, but instead of giving her a chance they chose to humiliate her instead and kick her out week 1: the producers made her sing the song that Ryan had won with and then slagged her off saying 'you're no Bianca Ryan, how could you be so arrogant as to choose that song'.

When will TV producers stop deceiving the public?

Actually didn't Per Diem say they had been told what to sing as well? Interesting

Still don't think Andrew is good enough for the final though.

It's partly down to us - if we all stopped wasting our money phoning into these things, they'd know that we were seeing through their deceptions. But then we'd have no show, and Saturday night telly would end up being worse than usual. It's the price of entertainment!

Something else which I've just noticed. Nearly everyone has performed something they previously done in either the audition or their semi final, so why couldn't Andrew???

He murdered that song, he comes across as smug too.

But would he have brought up the fact that he didn't want to sing it if he received a standing ovvation and buckets of praise for his performance instead?

It was on his list and he picked that song so there is no fix.

I didnt rate him in the semi and thought he was worse in the final, back to the day job fella.

I thought he had a great voice in the semi final, but tonight was a dreadful choice of song - just didnt suit his style of voice.

It was only when Simon told him that he had chosen that song, that andrew said it was out of his hands. It does make me wonder what exactly goes on behind the scenes.

I also think the judges like to make it out to be a close call as to who wins, to encourage further phone votes which equals more money!

It was never like this on Opportunity Knocks!!!

Also Liam from 'Strike' stumbling slightly and being unsynchronised in some of their routine.
