But this is ... boring!

Not impressed by the final so far!!!

Not one act has gone past the previous efforts, and quite a few haven't done as well as the semis

Very disappointing...

It's all pretty dire isn't it. If this is the best of the bunch I'd hate to have seen the rejects.

I really hope Escala don't win. They are just so 'meh'. I just don't see what is so special about them.

I really really enjoyed the semis (especially Wednesday), but so far this has been a bloody struggle! Come on someone, step up!

It has been pretty underwhelming so far. Faryl wasn't THAT good IMO. Hopefully Escala can save the show.

They can play whilst standing up and looking pretty. You need balance and stuff for that.

Are you serious? There are thousands of musicians who can do that. Hardly original? What the hell has balance and 'looking pretty' got to do with playing instruments and having talent anyway?

I doubt they would have got through at all if they all looked like Heather of Eastenders.

It may, just maybe, have been ... sarcasm?

Anyway, Bond were there before them. They're not original, Bond are four girls who are pretty, stand and play exactly like that. They even play that very song as a centrepiece.

I'll sum up tonight as "Is that it?"

It wasn't dire but not as good as I hoped.

I felt a bit underwhelmed by these performances tonight too. Not rubbish, but not as great as I thought they would be.

It's just fell flat. I don't think tonight will go out in a bang. More like a fizzle, or pop. All of the previous nights and weeks of auditions have been better perfomances. It's like they haven't even bothered. Is this all they can come up with? It's like I'm watching a repeat.

If one of the opera singers win, I won't bother wasting my time next year.

VARIETY is meant to be the key word!

I'd probably agree. None of the 'Top 5' did a performance that we haven't seen before.

I think signature and George have been the best tonight.

Lol...I sort of get the sentiment of this thread.

I'm watching the acts and thinking that the standard is very high. For the most part they are all worthy finalists and almost all performed their acts really well.
I honestly believe that this is the best set of finalists I've ever seen on one of these talent finals. I can't fault the lineup at all.
Some excellent performances.

But for some reason I got the feeling that something wasn't right, or that there was something missing.
But why?
I don't get it.

I think it's the fact we've seen all their performances before - most in auditions and George's in the semis. There should have been a week before the final I think to prepare something new.

Also probably alot of the humorous but quirky acts have all gone by the wayside and theres not so much to have a smile about, agree I expected more new routines also.

That may be the sound of a nail getting hit on the head.

During the auditions, and semis to extent, you'd get a mixed bag. Even if there were crap acts it all added to the entertainment, and as you say......VARIETY.

So we get a 'perfect' final on paper. But I think that the mix just didn't work.

5 dance acts.
3 singing acts, two of which were children singing opera.
Maybe that's a schedule that's going to drag no matter how you dress it up, or no matter how high the quality is.

Yep, fair points.
When you're watching it at the time you don't know why it hasn't got that oomph.
But once you sit down afterwards and think about it, the answers are obvious and of which there a few.

I'd rather a show where one of the judges didn't have a vested interest in who won. And on a different point, putting through the obvious "planks" to the semis for entertainment's sake deprived spaces for some worthy acts
