George doing the same routine...
JonSkinnups
31-05-2008
WHatever Cowell says, doing the same routine again a couple of days later is much easier than learning a new routine and trying to make your act more original. That performance was identical to his semi one. It was still well executed so he deserves credit but can he only dance to one song and perform one set of moves? It is the easy way out if you ask me and should count against him unless this was beyond his control.

In contrast, Strike worked hard on a new routine and Nemesis tried to learn a fresher act in less than 24 hours after getting through. That makes them braver and more courageous act and more in keeping with a variety contest. George does not seem to do 'variety'.

It's because his mixed music wasn't done on time.
He was rehersing in silence yesterday...

Im annoyed that he was allowed to do the same routine to be honest. Nemesis changed it up and may have blown their chances as they didnt have time to get the new routine perfect yet he comes on and does the same old routine - then again he has a bit of a sob story so he can be forgiven!!

Poor kid should have said something; thats the shows balls up not having content ready for him and then pretending like nothing had gone wrong; continuing.

Ok let's be very clear here: it WASN'T identical. Quite a lot of the second half was differently choreographed.

However, it was still way too similar for most people to be blown away. I thought it was great the first time around, but this time just thought it was good. It's hard to get excited by the same thing, like with Andrew Johnson and his song again.

yeh but wasnt it becasue the music that they were meant to be doing for him wasnt ready on time !

The judges just glossed over it; I'm not sure it was wise for them to do so.

Ok, now I understand and if it is their fault then that should have been made clear as I think he will lose a lot of votes now - maybe Im wrong though

I smell a rat to be honest. George was a clear favourite but the judges clearly wants Escala *yawns* to win

Nah, I think it's killed his chances.

It was very similar. Same beginning, exact same set of beginning moves, same music and the same finish(dancing in the rain). If there was variances in the mid to just before they were slight. I would say the same about AJ and Faryl Smith as well(I think that was her audition song). In fairness to Scala, they are not doing Live and Let Die again(don't remember their audition so I could be wrong on them not being repetitious).

It was very similar, but the moves of the second half including when he danced in the rain were largely different. But it doesn't matter, it was very similar and without the same spark as the first time.

Don't matter in the end. He is in good company. SIgnature are doing a very similar routine as their audition after only having the whole week to do something different.

Like him...didn't like the act...too soon after the semi to repeat the performance

I agree that there's no imperative to do something different, but I don't think it helps, plus I'm not sure I liked George's performance as much this time

Simon doesn't want dancers to win - he wants Escala or Faryl ...thus the dancers were ' gimped'.... I heard GS wanted a new routine and Signature wanted a new one - but we didn't get them..

Whether it was the same routine or not, it left me feeling the same as last time - underwhelmed and bored.

They did exactly the same piece of music that they did in their audtion.

I thought it was ridiculous how he did the same routine. Every other act did their audition but in full as we only get to see part of it in the audition. He does the exact same one as his semi-finals!

George wasn't the only one doing the same routine

He changed some of the choreography too so it wasn't exactly the same.

I was disapointed; I really want him to win. HOWEVER; it wasn't his fault. He had been rehearsing a whole new performance to a mix of two songs, the music wasn't ready in time for him to do. Which is a TOTAL bummer. Kudos to him for getting up and carrying on, and at least TRYING to change a few of the moves. I do feel his Semi one was better though... Oh Georgy, don't worry, I'm still voting for yah.

so if he'd been rehearsing to the music why didn't he give them the music or was it copyright problems???

The producers must be useless to screw up that badly. How can they not have had his music ready on time? What a bunch of incompitent idiots.
