I've always known the acts don't pick their own songs etc but tonight really has been quite farce filled with some delibrate obstacles placed infront of acts, IMO.

Good on Andrew for saying he didn't pick that song.

And shame on the producers for not fixing George's music on time forcing him to do the same routine.

I bet when Andrew said that the producers were thinking "SHUT UP!"

Also on Britain's got more talent, Faryl said if she got to the final she would sing Amazing Grace. Either she changed her mind or they told her to sing Ave Maria.

If she usng 'Amazing Grace' she probably would be worthy of a win but IOMO her performance wasn't show stopping tonight. The musical acts have all got a lot of exposure now I think and actually winning will be of more benefit to the variety acts such as the dancers, Kate & Gin, Strike etc.

I have to agree with this.

Why do they let people do the same routine while others do something new and have little to no time to do it.

Harsh. Awful final.

I don't get that because she was practising it yesterday and Andrew was practising something new too.

Was andrew johnston the only singer that got to do the song they wanted?

According to Simon Cowell on BGMT, the song was on a song list that he submitted.

Do you think the producers told all of the 'Top 5' that because George's new music wasn't ready, to even things up all five of the acts had to do one of the two routines we have seen before?

Practising what? I didn't watch BGMT.

I was just syaing in what you quoted, I would've preferred 'Amazing Grace' as I found tonights performance dull and boring - though she is talented.

One of the best explanations for a dire final yet.

Yup, On BGMT, that's where.

I'm pretty disappointed all around because they all have talent but they all were give some really horrible instructions for the finale.

Surprised how some people think it was a poor final, over half the acts gave stunning performances for me, OK one or two didnt offer anything greatly different which is maybe part of the reason.

Then he should have stood up for himself he's a flipping adult.

He could and should have said it's not what I do best and I want to sing something I can do to my best.

He cannot blame anyone else for his poor performance. The producers can't force any of them to sing something only advise. Otherwise they wouldn't have a show if they all rebelled.

You might have a truth there.

It seems possible. A shame if it's true.

Simon said on ITV2 that Andrew had to submit a song list and Imagine was on it. He can't complain if he put it on his list.

Producers can manipulate people in ways we don't see. "It was out of my hands". He obviously told them he didn't want to do it but was told otherwise.

It depends how many songs are on the list.

Well, if Mr. Cowell said, it must be true:

It doesn't really. You would have to be an utter idiot to put a song on the list that you didn't want to sing when the list was for songs to sing on the show!

Who knows exactly what happened.

But if you have to compile a list of 10 or 20 songs there are definitely going to be ones that you prefer to sing over others also he has no professional singing experience so how many songs does he actually have in his repertoire. He probably put down Imagine having only sung it in the shower before.

There might be ones that he prefers, but with a huge and wide selection, he should have been able to pick a song suited to his. In which case the point that he chose the wrong song would still stand. (I do see your point, though)

The lists idea makes sense (most likely because it is probably true). Getting song rights in 1 day is not always possible so they probably all had to submit a list that could be cleared in advance.

think you'll find song 'performance' rights on TV are open to all.
