Needs to be a few more people like me about. I loved Jodie and Jessie was my second fave, so I was pleased with the result, but I would have been just as happy had it been reversed.

Now the competition is over, I want to wish all the other girls well in the future too. Life is far too short to to spend time arguing over a phone vote that has been and gone, so let's just look forward to seeing all the different offers they each receive.

Some of the 'fans' have been starting charming threads about somebody's acting.

I agree that Jessie was fantastic last night & def at her best but........ I don't care coz JODIE won!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited, proud, chuffed etc etc that the right person won, i've been following Jodie's journey from day one so to see her win was just such an amazing feeling, sobbed my heart out with happiness.

She was just fantastic again last night, loved Son of a Preacher Man, her duet with the Oliver was great & you got to see how she will interact with the children, I have Nothing was even better last night than the first time and OMG As Long as He Needs Me was just beautiful. with each song i cried & went goosey, well done Jodie & well done GBP for getting it right.

People are celebrating because they are delighted for Jodie. Most of the comments I have seen on here are people defending her win against the legions of stroppy Jessie and Sam fans!

I wish Jessie fans would stop wringing their hands and saying she was robbed. Jessie was fabulous but Jodie was sensational and she deserved to win!!!!

I am sure we will be seeing lots more of both of them in the future.

But for the time being give Jodie the credit due to her. She won and no-one can take that away from her!

Congtrats Jodie! That ALAHNM ending only proved how amazing you really are! Who'd have thought the girl yanking off her shoes and spinning on one leg in her audition would end up winning this

After the result was announced, Jodie thanked viewers for picking her as the winner. "You have genuinely given me my dream, I can't actually put into words how I feel," she said. "I'm so grateful and so chuffed. I'm just Jodie from Blackpool and to be here is my dream."

Head judge Andrew Lloyd Webber commented: "She's the people's choice. I think people love her, they love her open personality. I think they relate to that personality and I think that's what makes her Nancy for the public. Her strengths are her personality and her very, very strong voice."

Mackintosh added: "I'm thrilled for Jodie. She is obviously the public's view of what they want to see as Nancy. She'll give a terrific performance and I really look forward to putting her into training and getting her into rehearsals."
