Did Simon Get The Winner He Wanted?
slappers r us
31-05-2008
The other night Simon said he had not seen the winner yet

up till that time George, Andrew, Faryll, Signature had not been seen in the Semi's

then yesterday I read an interview where Simon said he thought that George or Faryll would win

I just wonderd that the way Simon has banged on about youth not all being up to no good is a way of hinting that maybe George was one of his'favorites'

Well he seemed overwhelmed on Britain's Got More Talent, even more than the other judges so I think it's safe to say he got the winner he wanted.

Absolutely not! Simon can't make much money from a dancer, he would have wanted Escala, Andrew Johnston or Faryl to win - how the heck will he make money from a dancer?

The deal of winning the competition wasn't a record deal with Simon. Now that they have no media attention bein the winner of BGT they can concentrate on getting deals with simons people

But Simon will sign who he wants anyway - so the winner is kind of irrelevant so of course he will make a stack of money from the acts he signs.
Its pretty much a done deal he will sign Andrew J, Faryl and Escarla.
Simon looked pretty happy about the winner on the ITV2 show.

I agree he will sign those you mention, but he would make more money from them promoting them as winners of BGT rather than finalists so in answer to the OP no Simon didn't get the winner he wanted.

Simon wanted Faryl or possibly Escala. they all said it'd be good to see something diffferent this year, but in reality a singer was better for simon's bank balance - glad it didnt work out for him

I definately thought Simon wanted Faryl to win, he kept going on about her being special
Although he did say at one point that he wanted someone other than a singer to win this year

I think he knew that they couldn't go on forever with singers winning. The actual brand of the show is worth so much more to him than one singer so it's not a huge problem. He didn't get a singer from AGT2 either.

George got incredible comments from Simon right from the start and lots of attention.

I think Simon wanted Faryl or Escala to win but who really knows?

When it comes to signing people up, he doesn't have to rely on them winning. And if young Faryl was my daughter, I would feel happier knowing she had Simon looking out for her, than other unknown (possible) sharks.......... Better the devil you know - or so they say! Whether for her benefit or his own (probably both) he will take care of her.
