If I heard correctly in BGMT, they had to make a list of songs they wanted to sing, and that was on his list.

Yes, it was on his song list.

Doesn't matter if it's on his list. As long as there was another song on that list that he wanted to sing (or the song he sang on Tuesday or at the audition stage), he should have been allowed to sing it.

Or perhaps he should have put some thought into his song list? Why put a song on that you don't want to sing? Sounds idiotic to the highest degree.

He wouldn't have been allowed to sing his audition or semi finals song, though. Were they not the same song? I think everyone has had to do at least two acts.

He confirmed it was on his song list but did not say who had made the list. He also stated that he had never sung the song before in his life. He didn't want to sing it - surely that is all that matters?

I wonder if he would've mentioned the fact that he didn't want to sing that song if the judges gave him a standing ovvation and had given him heaps of praise.

How can you know that for sure though? Apparently Faryl said she was going to sing Amazing Grace but it turns out that she didn't end up singing it at all. So I suppose you'll be equally as angry about that as you were about Andrew singing Imagine, right?

Manipulation behind the scenes by producers behaving like Nazis from what we hear... Faryl was meant to have sung Amazing Grace, I don't know what happened there.

I'm sure that Cowell said that "he" put it on "his" list.

George was meant to have another track which wasn't ready on time and apparently Signature wanted to do a different sketch. Someone suggested that the problems which arose with George's remixed track meant that the producers told the top 5 to repeat a performance.

The only new performances were by Cheeky Monkeys, Nemesis, Andrew M (who had done the same song twice before) and Strike who were all runners up in their semi finals. So it seems a plausible idea.

Simon said he had made a mistake doing the song, andrew then said it was out of his hands, surely simon would have known that? Never rated him in the semi and he destroyed imagine.

The winners of the semi-finals were what I meant by "top 5".

I don't think it ruined it, but I do think it would have been better if they all did something new. But it seems things didn't go to plan at all. I suppose it is a problem with doing the shows every night.

For the one downside that we got tonight, I actually loved the nightly format. It really built the anticipation to the final and once again it took over the country.

For all sorts of scheduling reasons and judges committments, it won't happen anyway.

Yet another indication that this contest was fixed.

Who would get the job of firing Simon from his own show?

But even with new judges it wouldn't happen.

It gets the highest ratings on ITV1, they aren't going to have it running into July when nobody is watching TV on a Saturday night.

I think they should have held the final on sunday night to give the acts from friday a break.

I think the point to be made is that this rushed end to the series has it's problems.
If I was an act for this series (and as I have no obvious talent that won't ever be the case) then I'd like to do my semi final first. That way, you have plenty more time to get something else together for the final. I know if they did 2 weekly semi finals, then one act would get more time, but surely longer then a few hours is only fair all round.
