Should AGE be a factor in assessing talent???

I'm undecided.

On the one hand, it should. Since someone who's young and talented has many more years to improve and get even better. Also, the older performers have more years behind them and therefore might be expected to be more improved already.

On the other hand, it's slightly unfair. Since if you take two equally talented acts, one young and one old, the younger act will arguably get a bit more support, since people assume that as they get older they'll get better and better. Whereas older acts may still be very adaptable and malleable and able to improve.

Perhaps it might be better to have a separate competition for people of a certain age, since that way they are compared to people of their same age group, and that 'potential for improvement' factor is equally taken into account.

What does everyone else think?

No. Talent is talent as far I'm concerned. Although the more older you are, the more experience you are likely to have.

Yes certainly when the people voting who are parents are incapable of making any sensible judgement when a brat is involved.

Give parents and brats their own talent show and give sensible people their own adults show.

It's nothing to do with the acts but the stupidity level of the parents that make age an issue.

Emotionally unstable parents ruin this type of show for everyone.

I dont know about age, but sob stories should definitely not be a factor ! It seems the greater the sob story, the greater the tv coverage, the greater the potential votes.

Only for that adult with years of experience to lose out to some cute brat with no talent that emotionally unstable parents HAVE TO vote for.

Remove the parents and all is ok but until then as it's not fair, keep brats away from adults.

For god's sake what have you got against children and parents? I take it you were never a child and you don't have parents
