If you think so. I'm not sure where you get the idea she can't act. She was the best actress tonight!

No - she can't really act, and her accent is oo strong, her diction is also terrible. But she can show emotion really well when she performs singing wise, and i think with a few years training the accent can be calmed, diction improved, acting improved and she'd be a stronger performer then who could consistantly do well in a lead role.

Her acting was weak and we were asked to judge their ability now not in 6 months time, hopefully she will improve.

she can definitetly act and I think her ALAHNM proved it, head and shoulders above the rest, the emotion in it was incredible, completely believable, and not a hint of an accent

This has been done to death.
She can sing - very well in fact.
She can act a little - but accents are out.
She can't dance - at all.

Reminds me of a quote about Fred Astaire - when he went for his first studio audition the comment was "Can't act, can't sing, can dance a little". I've always loved that story.

Well, I'm sure she'll get in now if she still wants to go.

She can definitely act during songs, and in some of the other parts we've seen of them acting she did pretty well considering how much more of that kind of thing some of the others had already trained to do.

I agree and I certainly wouldn't pay to see her because of it.
Yeah she has a really great voice but thats about it.
She can't act very well...she just seems really wooden and just inconsistent when it comes to acting. I feel quite awkward watching her which isn't really something you'd want when paying to see somone performing as a leading lady in the West End.
She can't take direction very well as we've seen and her movement on stage is quite awful imo...it explains why they had her sitting down every week after she got bad comments on her movement.
I'm sure she'll get better with training but I think she'll need a lot of hard work but I don't think she's anywhere near ready for the role of Nancy or any acting role really.
She's still quite young though so theres plenty of time to improve. I think maybe in 6 months she will have gotten better but still got enough to take on the role of Nancy and I think it would have been pretty hit and miss as to whether she'd be any good or not if she had won.

Jodie on the other hand has it all, she is an amazing singer and the emotion really comes through when she performs. When you watch her you really believe in what she is singing.
From what we've seen she is a great actress and she has a brilliant stage presence she just commands it...6 months down the line when the show opens she's going to be even more incredible than she is now which is going to be quite somehting.

im sure ALW will get something for her............

I think that now the competition's over it's time to stop parroting the judges lines like "Jessie can't take direction" we don't know if she was given any.

Jessie blatantly can act and if you can't see that then it's not necessary to think about her anymore.

Jessie is pure emotion. Her performance in alahnm was, towards the end, outstanding. But she wouldn't be able to sustain that level of intensity for 8 performances a week. On thursday, she might be fab. But then on Saturday, not so good.

Jodie, as this series has shown, would give a consistent and good performance each night. She's a pro.

But on a fab night Jessie would be memorable. Jodie giving a consistently good performance (as she has each week) would be value for money. And sort of ok.

I can say these things now coz the Jodie fans are off celebrating.

Go Sam

Barbara Windsor and DVO were blown away by her. Drama schools are fickle things.

I think that you are being blinded by your Jessie bias.

Jodie managed to move me to tears not once, but three times over the last two weeks. Jessie is a nice promising kid who will probably do well in the future but she isn't there yet and no amount of sly comments about Jodie will change that. Jessie needs to grow up, get some life experience and tutoring and she will be fine.

Well, they are quite famous and they are actresses so clearly able to distinguish acting talent.

As for Meryl - I'm sure she would have commented positively had she been asked. She was probably washing her hair though.

I'm not being sly about Jodie. Crikey, get over it. She's won. She's a star. And she will be a great nancy.

But I'm not blown away by her.

As shown tonight, she has millions and millions of fans! Don't worry about what I think!

Chill out!
