Okay, I missed a lot of the start of the show as I preferred to watch Doctor Who, so am waiting until a repeat comes on so I can watch it in full.

In general then.

Whenever one of the presenters approached them they always seem to talk to the dog as though kate isn't even there.
She must be thinking "What am I? Chopped liver?"

What a ridiculous thing to say.

Kate and Gin were popular because they were a very good and very different act twice given the disadvantage of performing early.

They got by far the biggest studio audience reaction in both their semi-final and the final, despite most of the other acts appearing to have hired "Rent a Mob".

I couldn't agree more with what you're hinting at, though George is lovely and was among my favourites from the start.

I would add how are two guys with an act that becomes boring, dull and predictable after the first time you see it worthy of second place but they were on last so I wouldn't have expected them to come too far down in the voting.

Was the dog performing alone? Besides, what's wrong with an animal act winning a talent show? The act was more entertaining and more demanding than all but a couple of the other acts that it was up against tonight.

George learnt how to dance, he just happened to be better at learning how to dance than most other children. Does that mean he didn't deserve to win?

Yes, what a mockery it would have made of Britain;s Got Talent if someone with a talent for animal training had won and what a mockery it would have made of the prize to have had something so different from the usual soporific garbage performing at the Royal Variety Performance

This dog can do tricks? My dog can do tricks. My dog can sit, give his paw and come back when called. Can he spin around a wand, jump over my back, push me, walk back to back with me, roll over repeatedly, walk under me .......................? No.

I don't know what sort of dogs you know if you think something like that act is either normal or easy.

A human who can dance is more talented than an animal who can obey commands and do pretty much the same? Hmmmm........... please explain that logic.

I'm sure she doesn't. She loves that dog.

So why should a human win then just because they can do tricks?

(and I use the word "tricks" broadly to include singing, dancing, or any other kind of talent )

I'm convinced the lack of praise for Kate comes down to people only seeing the dog. These animal rights fanatics are everywhere on the internet I've noticed. They all hate humans. They vote for the closest thing to a non-human they can.

That's how I explain David Sneddon winning Fame Academy as well.

Yay!! Wasn't that episode of DW amazing? Anyway back on topic. I'm glad Simon noticed her tonight and said she deserved more attention.

TBH I am getting to the point now where I am getting tired of debating with people about a dog, the majority of the public obviously agree with me otherwise the dog would have won.

I think its very fair for a dog to compete against humans as long as we are allowed to enter a greyhound race or two in return.

There was a man against dog race once I think with the human having half of the track start and still losing I think.

To be honest, a lot of people are tired of debating with you.

" the majority of the public obviously agree with me otherwise the dog would have won" ................ What a daft thing to say. By that logic, anyone who didn't win is not talented.

I said the dog was talented, but not talented enough to win imo. I suggest you read my posts before criticising me.

Kate is very much a human being though isnt she, dont think they would have allowed a couple of South African spotted lemurs let loose on stage for three minutes without supervision for instance.

No. What you said was it would have been stupid for a dog to win. Don't start backtracking. Why would it have been stupid? Never mind the fact that there was a human performing on stage with her. A very talented, patient and pleasant 16 year old girl.

In my opinion, it's absurd that a choirboy no better than 9 out of 10 choirboys in the country and an act that lost its value after the first viewing were second and third but I wouldn't say it was stupid. Out of the top three, George was a deserved winner.

Funnily enough, I thought George's act suffered more from being the same as before than the other acts mentioned but each to his own.

Several of the acts repeated their semi-final performance or their audition performance. Don't forget there is less than a week for all the acts between knowing they're going to be in the final and the final itself.

The problem with Signature is that what makes there act entertaining is the element of surprise that there was in their audition - the big bloke coming on as a cleaner and then unexpectedly dancing every bit as well as the other guy. Funny the first time, pointless the next. Signature could have put together a whole new routine and it would still have come across as same old same old. They benefited a lot from being the last act on in their semi and did so again tonight.

I aint backtracking on anything, imo it would be stupid for a dog to win because there were other acts which were a lot more talented. I never said anything about the dog not being talented, I just said the other acts were more talented than the dog. Thus making it stupid imo for the dog to have won.

Dunno thats a very talented dog, probably at least the equivalent in doggie terms of what George was doing (without the shower routine of course).

Yes, really good. I wasn't going to miss that as Stephen Moffat is almost guaranteed to write a great story.

Yes, I was just watching the repeat and it was good to see Simon finally acknowledge her contribution.

I also think Kate's a lovely girl and think she's much nicer than most people who appear on talent shows.

LOL, I like gin don't get me wrong she is one talented dog. I just think that other acts were a lot more talented and I would rather watch them. If people prefer gin and think she and kate should have won fair enough. I was just shocked when people said that George couldn't dance, has no talent and Gin should of won

Or maybe even should have won

I think George is great and I couldn't understand why he wasn't put through to the semi-final last year but I think that had a great bearing on the result this year. Had this been the first year he had entered, he may have made the fnal but that's it.

There is no point comparing George and Kate and Gin. They are completely different acts. For me, Kate and Gin were the more entertaining of the two and the most entertaining of the entire final. I can't understand why they didn't make the top 3, other than having been on so early in the show. That's not to say I don't think George should have won. He was my second choice after Kate and Gin, closely followed by Strike and Faryl, because the others were either things I cannot abide (performing tots - Cheeky Monkeys), overrated (Andrew Johnston, Escala), ordinary (Andrew Muir), repetitive and boring (Signature) or disappointing (Nemisis).
