If you compare ALW's look when he has found someone special, and Simon Cowell's they are really quite different. ALW's is a real excitement that he has found new talent for his passion of musical theatre and the obvious pleasure he derives from that. I have always found simon Cowell's expression in on his face as if he can just see the £££ signs that this new talent could make for him - you saw it with Leona and with Faryll Smith and Rhydian. Maybe a bit unfair, cos some would argue ALW is just as commercial as Simon, but I feel ALW has more passion for art itself, rather than the financial side. You just have to read his plea to the house of Lords over theatre architecture (on his website
www.andrewlloydwebber.com) to feel the passion with which he works. He is actually very eloquent in the speech, and a comes across as hugely knowledgeable. I have a lot of time for him, and love his rebel attitude - he said he only did the Hollyoaks thing because he loves to see the reaction of his rivals with his unconventionality.
