I hope I'm wrong as it wouldn't be fair on jodie, but if the official open night is january 14th, isn't that a wednesday evening, which means at the minute jodie wouldn't be performing as she is contracted to wednesday matinees at the min

love the airbrushing on the photo. Maybe by December they will have invented a way to air brush her live on stage. Then if it is gorman it may be slightly more believable.

Mickey Mouse, see this:-

As performances do not commence until 12 December, there is not a fully confirmed performance schedule for Nancy and Oliver. Due to licensing issues, it will not be decided which Oliver will perform until shortly before the performance starts. Sickness and holiday permitting, Jodie Prenger is scheduled to perform on Monday and Tuesday evenings, Wednesday matinees and Friday evenings. Until the show opens in December, the Producers cannot make a final decision on any additonal performances.

I read that to refer to performances BEFORE the official opening.

Why don't you just give up the bitchiness now? It's pathetic, and makes you look like a terrible loser.

I am guessing from your rude comments that in your life you only see beautiful and perfect couples??

Burn Gorman is an unusual looking man who is a fantastic actor and will, if its him, be partnered by a stunning woman in Jodie- I don't think you really know what Burn looks like if you think he looks like Jodie's brother?

Also if you are being sizest do you think that only tiny women suffer from domestic abuse? Only women who's boyfriends are smaller than they are? You need to get out more. Women and men who suffer from domestic abuse suffer in many ways and their abusers come in all shapes and sizes.

look, i am in no doubt that Jodie is a very good looking woman. And if they cast the right Bill she will be an excellent Nancy. But in my opinion if it is Burn they will just look wrong. Jodie will be a great nancy that is not my point and she is very attractive. I just don't see them working together very well.

by the way i didnt mean by saying her little brother they look the same I just meant as he looks so much younger than her.

What about the man who plays Sean in Eastenders to play Bill Sykes?
I think he would be excellent.

The problem now is that they need a big bloke to play Bill. I think Burn Gorman would look more scared of Jodie than the other way around! Yeah, Nancy's not always scared of Bill or anything, but it needs to look believable that he could beat her up and kill her!!

Burn Gorman is taller than Jodie, he's older than Jodie, he can do menacing so your problem is obviously with Jodie rather than the actor who gets the role of Bill Sykes.

After seeing Burn in various eps of Torchwood, he can do menacing. He is an amazing actor. If you want to see him angry try near the end of series 2 finale when he first realises whats gonna happen.

I'm not denying that Burn is a good actor etc etc. but physically, with Jodie as Nancy, he wouldn't be believable for me as Bill. He's not a big bloke, nor is he tall. For the same reason, I wouldn't say Rob Kazinsky could do it, though I think he would make a fab Bill in different circumstances.

Maybe they have cast him but he's not a big name to draw in the crowds, or they don't consider Bill a particularly important part enough to put on the adverts.

the first 'oliver!' production i saw (about 15 yrs ago!) was a semi -pro cast. i can't remember a thing about nancy (!?!) but bill sykes scared me silly. he was a small, balding wiry man who was so menacing and came across as all powerful on the stage.

burn gorman reminds me of him, and i do so hope he gets the part, not some 'pretty boy'.

Why does he have to be a big tall bloke?

Burn Gorman is 5'10 so not exactly short.

That photo has been doing the rounds since March, when all the potential Nancy's had photos. It is entirely possible (and probable) that they all had some form of air-brushing done. It's common for anything nowadays.

Direction at one in-particular person isn't really needed, as I am sure your favourite also had similar done.
