The Aurora suite

This is what is used to make the pvr80 firmware

http://www.cabot.co.uk/solutions/int...-dvb-solutions

Anyone know where to download this suite from?
We could make our own firmware for the pvr80 and others if we had it

Would be nice, but I hardly think there is much chance of that - companies presumably have to pay big bucks to use that software in their products. And don't forget that Cabot are part of the Vestel Group.

Surley someone must have 'leaked' a copy by now...
Also seeing as the pvr80 is now discontinued, maybe we should ask for a stripped down copy to edit the firmware?
Would be interesting to play with and experiment..

Or are there any tools to decompress/recompress the .bins so we can tinker?

(ps i know you can read the bins with notepad, but you cant really change anything)

The T810 may be discontinued, but the newer/current T825 models use the same chipset and Aurora middleware. So I'm sure Vestel won't want development software getting leaked, as I guess in their view that will mean that their competitors will steal their code and put Vestel out of business. That said, I think that some of us here could do a better job developing the T825 software than Vestel can .

You're right about the .bins - they do look compressed or encoded, at least partly, especially as text searches do not reveal any of the strings in the user interface. But even after decompressing them, you would still need to find a tool to disassemble the code (for whatever cpu is used as the base of the STx5100 chipset). Sorry if I sound negative - it's just that if I can't even manage to obtain working/new software builds from the project manager, I doubt there is much hope of obtaining any information that would help with tinkering .
