I thought that Jessie performance of that song was amazing she out sung Jodie and Andrew got what he wanted her to perform at the final, it was very much her comfort zone. Jodie the public were behind you congratulations my two favourites in the final what i always thought would happen except i thought Rachel would have been there too.

Totally agree. Jessie was ace and Rachel should have been there in place of Sam.

It was absolutely amazing! I'm not a Jessie fan at all and wanted Samantha to win, but wow, Jessie's ALAHNM was just outstanding. Although I've expected Jodie to win for a while, I thought Jessie would take it after her fantastic performances yesterday!

It's up there in my top 3, though Niamh's will always be my favourite.

Yes it was amazingly good. It looked more real than Jodie's and Sam's to be honest.
I got nothing listening to or watching them sing it.
Jessie can certainly sing that song.

During the show both my husband and I thought Jessie sang ALAHNM amazingly well - and thought she edged Jodie.

However, when Jodie sang the whole song at the end of the show ... brilliant.

Also agree with the above post that Rachel should have been the third finalist.

I agree Jessie sang ALAHNM fabulously, in fact I think she really upped her game completely last night, and on last nights performances - although I wanted Jodie to win - I didn't think she would.

But looking back over the series as a whole, Jessie to me wasn't consistent, Jodie was, and maybe viewers were voting on the series and not just on last night?

I thought it was the best ALAHNM out of the whole series without a doubt ( sorry Sarah- I loved yours too )

Jessie was phenomenal, Jodie the safe option won, I thought her version at the end was mediocre, I quite liked Jodie throughout, but watching her sing at the end, she's NOT Nancy, I think the panel were right. I thin she will have a short contract. A lovely girl, but her voice was poor enough tonight, she really struggled a few times.

Yep, i thought she might have won it , based on that

I thought it was good and really nicely sung but a bit too 'staged'. At no point did I actually believe that she felt that. Maybe her relative youth and inexperience didn't help.

In comparison I believed every word that Jodie sang. She did excellently at emoting the song and her performance really did give me chills - she was pained and angry and defiant. Same thing again when I re-watched it. I haven't voted before in this series but I voted after that performance last night because that's the experience I want in the theatre.

I thought both were very good, but Jodie had the emotional edge she had the depth where as Jessie was very good but she wasnt feeling it.

Bigger question, I have just watched the final again, the last show, if Cam and ALW wanted Jessie so much, why show her doing the worst acting ever, even Barbara;s face and DVO face was a picture. They even repeated it showing no one could understand a word........why do that to Jessie in the final ??????.....strange

If I remember right that task was quite early on. Were they making the point she'd improved since then?

Don't want to disrespect your right to an opinion or anything, but I don't think anyone can say jessie wasn't 'feeling it' when she sang ALAHNM.

i completelt agree, I don't think jodie felt it on her first attempt at all.

As for showing jessie's accent thing, if it was to stop people voting they wouldn't have shown it with seconds to spare, they'd have shown it at the start, it had no effect on voting. It was shown as it was funny, if anything it made me like jessie more, I found it endearing

Yes, you can.

To me Jessie seemed to portray the emotions well but there was something intangible which never convinced me she actually felt them or knew what it was like to feel them.

Jodie had that something. Perhaps she had that more Stanislavski type approach of using your own memories and emotions to truly feel something on stage.

I think this is where Jodie's age was an advantage. I think it was harder for Jessie, with her relative lack of life experience, to even get close to core of what Nancy is feeling in that song. Jodie had more to draw on.

Jessie needs time and more training to improve this.

Im not sure...........but why do it....why remind people how awful that was. We didnt get a second acting mission to see if she had improved.

Jessie I feel goes through the motions of emotion, but she doesnt feel it. She pulls it out of the bag on occasion and I think thats what ALW was saying that he wasnt sure Jessie could pull it out of the hat all the time.

both very good tho

Jessamy, you wont show desrespect giving your opinion. I think Jessie will be better once she experiences more in life.

But her eyes tell you she is not feeling it,

I'm afraid I don't agree with everyone regarding Jessie's performance of ALAHNM last night. There is a thin line between emotion and over the top hamming, and Jessie crossed that line. It was no longer believable IMO, but rather it was shouted out. ALW was trying to say that you would just not have the stamina to maintain that level every night and he was questioning as to whether she could maintain this. I thought Jodie's performance of ALAHNM was a measured performance and worthy of the West End.

I didnt find it endearing to be reminded she cant act.

Jessie will be brilliant....once she gets more training, but she needs to connect with her lyrics....for me she doesnt do that yet................

I heard her shouting at the end too, I take nothing away from Jessie she still has a lot to learn. She is not consistant and I think this is down to her inexperience. Im sure it will come........but she doesnt have it just now.

she has alot still to learn............
