Looks like The Sun got their info wrong because Charlie tells The Sunday Mirror that her return to EastEnders is perminant and she will stay as long as she feels happy.

I didn't like Janine the character much to be honest. I felt her character wore a bit thin. Charlie's a good actress though.

I've always assumed the original quote of her saying she would be in it for a year was wrong, especially since one of the reasons she cited as going back to it was that she wanted a stable income for he child.

I'm betting what she actually said was that she was on a one-year contract - which many of the cast are.

I hope she gets a great storyline... and a suitable love interest!

I didn't buy into the whole 'back for a year' rubbish anyway. As if they'd reveal the length of her stay so soon, it would hinder enjoyment of all her storylines if we knew she was leaving after only a year. Everybody signs for 12 months so I can well believe this is where the confusion came from.
