Who was the least likely Nancy in the final 12?

I personally think it was Keisha - she is a classy night-club type singer and I can't think what she was doing there. Seeing her trying to strangle her vowels to make them sound cockney was painful! She was far too elegant and polished to make a convincing Nancy, but i do hope she finds lots of work through her exposure on the show. What do others think?

My vote goes to Tara - she was even off-key last night and she only had one line to sing!

Niamh was certainly the least Nancy like for me. There was nothing about her which said 'Nancy' at all.

Yes, she might be talented, but that doesn't mean she is right for every role.

It's got to be Tara for me, though I don't really like picking one. I think Amy could have been good a Nancy.

So do I actually - she was never given a chance.

I think Keisha, we have had all this fuss about an Irish Nancy, how the devil would you explain a black nancy.

Tara was the least convincing as Nancy.

Sonia Swaby played Nancy , she is a black actress and got great reviews

Erm, what? As a prostitute in London, back then she was in the class most likely to be non-white, actually, and there was a sizeable black community. Sophie Okonedo in the recent BBC adaptation was an amazing Nancy.

With regards to the original question, my vote goes to Niamh - a very talented girl, but just not right for the part.

Yes, I had her marked higher than her first-night exit suggest.

Keisha for me

Cleo I didn't rate her at all as Nancy

Tara for me. I was very anti-Niamh at the start, but was coming round to her when she was knocked out - she seemed a very good actress.

She was second on my list for not being Nnacy. I think she probably looked the part, not sure on her acting, but her voice wasn't right - I guess we didn't see too much of her singing in the end, but that which we did see seemed wrong. Yes she had a great voice, but I don't think it had the powerful voice needed to put the passion and energy in to some of Nancy's songs. Her singing skills were in other areas.

Niamh - I actually really love her voice but she was just not right for the role, however much they want to redefine it.

Didn't think Sarah was particularly suited either - I think she'd still have made a good Nancy, but she would be able to pull off other roles more convincingly & naturally than Nancy.

Yes, Keisha just didn't seem musical theatre to me - too polished.

Amy would have been quite suited, actually. I don't think Cleo was, though.

Several of the Nancies sounded bad in last night's group number:

Tara
Amy
Cleo
and even Fran

For me, the least likely Nancy of the series was Tara.

I don't mean to be mean either here...but did anyone else think that as well as sounding bad, Francesca looked a little odd too? Too much holidaying in the sun maybe? Or could it have been too much fake tan?

Tara for me....

Oh come on, people. Niamh. It was pathetic that they even considered her for the part and showed up just how fickle ALW & co. were when it came to deciding who Nancy IS.

Niamh ticked none of the boxes for me. Horrible choice. That girl Lucy deserved to be there way more than her.

That could have been a problem. I don't think St. Tropez or Fake Bake had been invented in Dickens' times.

Yeah she did, you're absolutely right. Too much fake tan this week; too much blusher the week she left. That girl doesn't have much make-up luck!

IMO I don't think Tara, Niamh or Sam should have made the final 12.

Two not-Nancy's stood out for me.

Keisha - too 'strong' for Nancy. She'd have run rings round Bill Sykes.

Niamh - if Nancy had looked liked Niamh she wouldn't have been with Bill Sykes & Fagin's gang as a common prostitute. Bill would have found her a toff to set her up as his bit on the side.
