Francesca always looked a little too glamorous to me too. And I don't think she had much luck with dresses either - the one she was wearing yesterday made her look like she was practically bursting from it in the chest area

Good point - but the judges were so pro-her for so long, I was really surprised actually. I never thought she looked right, but when the judges said that there could be a different kind of Nancy, I listened to them (doh! what kind of sheep am I?!).

I think I'm going to go with Tara ... I'm not sure why though.

(Although 'Suddenly I See' might have something to do with it!)

I've said it before and I'll say it again how the hell does a Blonde look rough enough to play Nancy when they dress her in baby pink and give her a bad make up explosion every week.

The make up last night made her look way to Glam as did the dress but I think she is great and given the right outfit's would not have looked too glam but perfect

I know this is a bit different but you could say that about several of them really (the dress colour, not the hair colour, which kind of doesn't make what I'm trying to say work, really ).

Lilac (Cleo) wasn't really a very 'tough' colour, neither was Niamh's colour, really (although Niamh's was closer to red, so maybe that doesn't count - I'm building a whole post here on shaky foundations ).

Maybe if Fran had stayed in a bit longer () they would have given her a chance and dressed her in black (although not sure how that would have looked) and given her a pink accessory, or something.

I'm not quite sure how this will sound written, but if it sounds horrible, I don't mean it that way! - Do you think Jodie/Jessie/Sam would have got to the final if they'd worn baby pink?

I know this is taken out of context slightly, as the whole "blonde & baby pink" is a bit "baby spice" - I know what you mean, although this post may not have shown it!

Niamh and Cleo. Not Nancy in any way for me.

Keisha looked far too classy - she looks like a princess!!

I thought that Niamh and Sam both looked far too contemporary to play a victorian street girl. Even When Sam dressed up for the acting mission with BH, she still loooked like she was about to pop into Top Shop.

Definitely Niamh. She's a talented girl, but physically and vocally, she was totally unsuitable. I'll never understand why anyone, let alone ALW thought she was a good choice to play a Victorian, gin drinking prostitute

Remind me never to employ JB as a casting agent. He would have picked Niamh for the part over Jessie. Gasp.

Amy probably wasn't very suitable either, but it's hard to pass judgement as we saw so little of her. If she had the chance, perhaps she could have shown us some Nancy suitability.

An honourable mention for the two worst singers in the final twelve, Tara and Cleo, but in both cases I quite liked their 'look' for Nancy, specially Cleo's. And Tara's ALAHNM was surprisingly good actually.

All of the others, with various degrees of success, would have been convincing in the role.

Watching the auditions, and having taken into consideration the description of the Nancy they wanted, the one person I thought was completely wrong for the part was Jodie and I never changed my mind throughout the show. I was stunned when they put her through to the twelve as she so obviously wasn't what they wanted and yet as soon as they did I rather feared she would go on to win it and they would score an own goal.

Once the show started it was obvious that a lot of girls were struggling to perform well on tv or were taking their time getting up to speed so it was hard to be positive about them. If I can detach myself a bit from that and just go on the general look and sound then I was probably least convinced by Cleo, Fran, Sam and Tara. I wasn't sure about Keisha at first but as the weeks went by I could see it could work with her, likewise with Sam. I was rather indifferent to Ashley or Rachel. Amy looked fine for the part. Jessie and Niamh seemed right all along.

I think a lot of them were totally unsuited to the part but the one with absolutely the least Nancy potential had to be Cleo for me. You could not imagine her coping in a million years.

Close runners up for "not Nancy" would be:

Tara - out of tune screeching
Niamh - wrong voice, no acting, too waiflike
Keisha - too strong
Jessie - can't act
Sam - no emotions

Tara was hopeless. To go out in the third (I think?) week and yet still outstay your welcome by three weeks takes a special kind of talent.

I liked Keisha, I was gutted the night she went, always liked Niamh but felt it should have been her. Lovely kid, very talented, good career in front of her - but she was about as suited to the role of Nancy as Mike Tyson.

I thought Amy had potential too. One of these people who - had she not gone at the first hurdle - probably would have lasted a good few weeks.

Tara. Never a Nancy in a MILLION years. I have no idea what she was doing there. Far more suited to something modern, edgy and funky. Pop. Starlight Express or something. Next probably Keisha whose whole style wasn't suited to musical theatre.

I'd have preferred to see Nancy Nancy and Lucy (the girl who sang with Jessie and Nimah in the music room at Andrew's house) in the final, they were far more suited to the whole shebang.
