If Jessie had sung 'one night only' instead

Might that have made a difference?

I know she got rave reviews from the panel for 'the man that got away', but it's not a song i know very well, and definitely not one that inspires me to vote. on the other hand if she had done a great performance of 'one night only', maybe that would have got people on their phones

last year when lee sang 'paint it black', that was the show stopper, jessie needed one of those - it was probably too late by 'as long as he needs me'.

To be honest, that last song can't of made that much of a difference, the phone lines closed almost immediately after she finished.

The voting closed the minute she stopped singing. I don't think what she sung would have made enough difference for her to win. If she had sung first the song choice would have been more important and she may have won. Depends how close the votes were.

The Man That Got Away I felt was pretty darn showstopping!

Probably not. I think Jodie was always going to win it. I thought Jessie gave some stunning performances last night, but the public had already decided who their Nancy was and that was Jodie. Loyal Jodie and Jessie fans would have been voting for their favourite last night no matter what kind of performance they came - I think Jodie just happened to have more fans than Jessie, therefore won it. I don't think the song choices meant a lot last night.

I think the battle was lost before that performance!
I have to say One Night Only was her best!

I think I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't like The Man That Got Away. I find the song quite dull, and I never quite got the fuss people made over her performance the first time around. I preferred One Night Only too and it's a much more show-stopping song.

but as people say, it wouldn't have made much of a difference as it was too late in the day!

I couldn't agree more!! (I mean it was sung by Mrs Emotion herself, Judy Garland - what more do we want?!)

it you listen to the orginal Judy Garland one...........she was amazing.....Jessie voice could not compare to Judy Garlands so she did it slightly different.....abit more watered down. I prefered Judy's version.....

I think the battle was lost before last night personally, Jodie had been consistent in the last few weeks whereas Jessie had some weaker moments. If she had been able to make last week a better week then last night may have been closer but I think she was lucky to avoid the sing-off that saw Rachel go. I'm a Jessie fan and she was brilliant last night, but I think it was too late by then unfortunately.

no, if song choice had anything to do with it... Jessie would have won.

people voted for the most consistant, the most popular through the whole series. Jessie did a better job last night, but song choice would not have changed the outcome whatsoever.

I didn't like Judy's version at all.
Unfortunatly for Jessie she didn't sing as well as she did in her first performence of the man that got away.
But it's propable that it wouldn't have helped anyway.

maybe show-stopping isn't quite the right word then, as TMTGA obviously is an amazing song, maybe you just have to know it - didn't really do anything for me.

i'm not saying jodie didn't deserve to win though, i would have been happy with either of the girls, though jessie was my favourite. i just loved one night only and would have loved to hear it again

If Jessie had have sung it with that depth and emotional strength she would have shut down BBC.

There is still time for her to learn.........but Judy's voice was outstanding...........

I don't care. I didn't enjoy Judy singing it. Her vioce is so powerfull that it annoys me. That's all I'm saying.
