I recorded PCBH onto 69 tapes, each with ten episodes in long play. with the first tape being a 5 hour tape with 12 eps on. Being the sad bastard I am, I named each of the tapes after characters from the show....as soon as I'd gotten my final collection together, the announcement of a complete DVD set came along. I was happy to get them all digitally, but I was also put out that my collection was now redundant in effect.
Anyone ever collected all the episodes of tv show?

Not every single episode from the show, but I managed to collect most of the September 2010 episodes of Eastenders.

Well, the iPlayer programe I used to download the episodes I wanted probably won't work any more, as I bet that iPlayer will have changed too much since 2010 when I downloaded said EastEnders episodes!
It also had the annoying limitation of not being able to download HD versions of anything. 
Im suprised a popular show as that still hasent been given proper season sets in the shops.
If PCBH can get the entire run released then anything is possible.
Its just a shame that these TV companies just dont care about listening to fans opinions as there has been alot of petitions over the years to get such and such a DVD release and it never happens.

Woah! This thread has taken me back. Back in the 90's and early 2000's I was a prolific taper trying to make my own video library. At one point I had over 400 videotapes.
I remember once stacking them in me-sized piles to count them and that was a lot of piles! Seriously, I got to around 420 and got so embarrassed that I had so many I stopped counting.
I used to have a couple of exercise books in which I used to keep a written database. Categories over two lines were:

The front page was my weekly planner (dates and day entry's done in pencil so they could be changed each week)
Yes, I really was that anal.
Most of them were copies, I only had around 20-25 shop bought VHS. It did tail off in the early 2000's. I think the last things I taped intending to keep (I didn't) was the 2005 series of Doctor Who - and that was the only thing I taped from that year. Back in the 90's, by that time (March) I would have already been up to 15 tapes on average filled.
By this time I had already started buying DVD's and TV shows I had faithfully recorded complete like Drop the Dead Donkey, Due South, The Detectives, Father Ted, Buffy, Bab 5 and the X-Files were replaced and the tapes thrown out.
I have to admit there was something appealing about replacing a load of tapes of a season that measured around a foot with a DVD box set that was the size of a couple of books. Copied movies were also replaced on DVD.
Eventually most of my tapes were thrown out. I've gone from 420 plus videotapes to around 20-25 which I keep intending to put onto DVDs.
All I've got left now are the complete People's Century,
a comedy drama called Common As Muck (about binmen, starred Tim Healy & Edward Woodward),
2 tapes with the complete Now & Again season (long play),
Robin of Sherwood series 2,
a couple of random tapes that I used to balance my old PC's stack on for airflow,
4 tapes containing matches from France 98
3 tapes containing Newcastle United UEFA Cup games from KK's era,
(With the exception of Robin of Sherwood these have not been released on DVD in the UK)
I got rid of the last of my tapes of The Bill last month when the episodes that I had wanted to keep (the fall of Don Beech and the Sun Hill fire) I recorded off Drama.
