The only series I've been obsessed enough about to bother with was Larry Sanders - got every one, thank you very much

Partner's dad has every episode of Friends apart from the last series cos he can't get it on video (and I doubt he will). Partner has every episode of Jonathan Creek.

I have Strictly Come Dancing series 4 and 5 on DVD but only one couple's dances on each.

I did record the whole series but then edited the disc as I wanted just my favourites.

I suggest that those people who have series on VHS find some way to record onto DVD which is more stable.

I recorded every episode of a programme called beat the cyborgs, which wasnt too hard as there was only 1 series. It was presented by the late Mark Speight.

Just wondering if you have both pilot movies (1967+ 1971), all 43 1970's episodes + the 24 new ones made after 1989?

Anyone else on Digital ever took on themselves to record/collect every episode of a TV Series (you can't get on DVD). Be it on DVD-R,VHS or whatever

I ask because it's kind of my hobby. Next Saturday I'll get and finish the last 2 Mythbusters episodes I need to complete the set. I just finished Fairly Odd Parents last week. Going back I collected did my own set of Aaah Real Monsters and Rocko's Modern Life. I do TV Burp, QI and The Simpsons as well.
I used to do Brainiac but got bored with so won't do any more future series of that. I've got all the crytal maze episodes par 1! was nearly there but now Challange have stopped airing it expect weekends.

I always have to be collecting something. Just to feel normal. It's a drug
i wished i'd done that with top of the pops

Mostly comedy stuff for me:

dinnerladies (and everything Victoria Wood has done), Black Books, Father Ted, Gimme Gimme Gimme, The Royle Family, The League of Gentlemen, Still Game etc...

Got some documentary series too like The Great War, History of Britain...my folks had a mad thing about recording every single episode of Keith Floyd's cookery shows in the 80s and I've still got some of those on VHS that I won't get rid of until I can get them on DVD for them!

2 Canadian series called ENG and Street Legal

the whole of NYPD Blue (all series)
I think ENG may have had a dvd release at some point. And do you have the missing NYPD episode from season seven which C4 skipped due to its content, and which has still never been shown on British tv?

Yes, Lost Empires. It aired in the mid-1980s. It was Colin Firth's first major TV role and Laurence Olivier's last. It was expensive, expansive entertainment that ITV simply does not produce these days. I recorded the first episode and liked it, so I taped the rest. I'm so glad I did as, I believe, it has never been repeated and although it's available on Region 1 DVD it hasn't been released in this country. When the VHS tapes started to age, I transferred them to DVD and even to my iPod!

Going to show my age here but before my mum and dad bought a VCR, I used to audio tape episodes of Coronation Street and the US sit-com Soap. Must have been around 1979 or 1980.
I used to audio tape stuff like Thunderbirds and Randall & Hopkirk.

I absolutely love the crystal maze, but I have ony ever seen dribs and drabs of it as I was too young when it was on tv. Im really trying to get hold of the complete collection but no one has it anywhere.

You are the only person I have found that has a very nearly complete collection. Is there any way you would be interested in selling me the collection as you say you have it on your hard-drive? You would be making a genuine fan very happy and save me a lot of time trying to find it.

In the late 70's I compiled an audio tape of tv themes.

But how primitive was it - I used to have to hold the mic in front of the tv speaker and it was hard to judge the distance right
lol my brother did the same with all the Dr Who, Blake 7, Star Trek

It was a hanging offence to speak while a programme was on lol

Wish they would repeat Spender loved that

Six Feet Under.

My partner has the whole of Star Trek Voyager but that's because I bought them for him.

You are very lucky having the complete series of Sons and Daughters. I had hoped that iyt would be released on DVD too, but now seems unlikely.

Fantastic.

I have every episode of Cagney & Lacey on VHS. That includes the pilot movie - every single episode and all four movies. All recorded from the BBC when they originally aired.

I also have access (they are in a friends loft) to every single episode of Sons & Daughters & Prisoner Cell Block H. Both on VHS. Well over 200 tapes. Numbered thankfully.

No idea why I keep them as I am not likely to trawl through them all.

This smacks of OCD...but if so, I admit to being a sufferer as well!

Brimstone
Third Watch
Jake 2.0
Every Match of the Day / World Cup / Euros / England Friendlies / Football Focus / On The Ball / Carling Cup Highlights / Champions League Weekly + Highlights - Since 1996
Every NFL programme ever broadcast in the UK since 1998 (most on video - taking me an eternity to shift over to DVD!)
Line of Fire
C-16
Medical Investigations
Air Crash Investigations
Mega Disasters
Mayday
DeRail
ReGenesis (S2)
The Ghost Squad
Cold Case
LA Law
The Practice
And more I can't remember

Plus all the programmes I record on Sky+ then to my DVD HDD before saving to DVD+RW until the boxset comes out for;

CSI / Miami / NY
Law & Order / CI / SVU
Doctor Who (Classic & New)
Bones
Nip/Tuck
The Fugitive (new version)
Terminator: TSCC
Criminal Minds
Headcases
Smallville
Dexter
Without a Trace
ER
Torchwood
And more I can't remember!

Major League Baseball on 5 (have to admit I only record this, watch it then re-use the DVD - currently up to the play offs in 2004)
Superleague (rugby league) - same as above. Just finishing off week 26 of the 2004 season on video...

And no, I rarely if ever watch them again. It's a VERY expensive habit I really should seek help for !!

Wow!! All of Thiord Watch and LA Law, I'm impressed!!
