I am collecting all the ITC adventure and crime series as they come out from Network, and am still waiting on The Four Just Men and Whiplash, although there is an unooficial dvd of this in America, but they seem to have stopped because they are not in colour.

Fantastic.

I have every episode of Cagney & Lacey on VHS. That includes the pilot movie - every single episode and all four movies. All recorded from the BBC when they originally aired.

I also have access (they are in a friends loft) to every single episode of Sons & Daughters & Prisoner Cell Block H. Both on VHS. Well over 200 tapes. Numbered thankfully.

No idea why I keep them as I am not likely to trawl through them all.
I have quite a few episodes of this recorded too. I used to watch it when it first started on Granada but then I moved house and could only get a good picture on Central and they were way ahead in the series. I then started watching again after missing a big chunk but then it clashed with the school run! So I recorded them but never watched them and now they sit on a shelf and I haven't a clue what order they go in

PS I found a web site about S&D that had all the episodes written up but they were so long I gave up - maybe I'll try again

I also recorded two series of a learning Welsh programme which I've never watched since. I had to record them from S4C and the quality is quite poor.

The only ones I have got are my Moonlighting videos, which I taped from tv when they used to show it on ABC1 (anyone remember that!)

I don't think I managed to get every episode though.... and I don't think they were released onto video.

But how primitive was it - I used to have to hold the mic in front of the tv speaker and it was hard to judge the distance right
And inevitably there'd be the relative with the smokers cough barking away in the background and your Nan asking "What do you fancy for your tea?.......Eh?........I can't hear you........Oh bugger off with your taping!...Shushing me!.......................Shall I do you a bit of Cumberland sausage?"

I now have every episode of Grand Designs (including revisits) on my hard disk. It took me ages as they were not repeated in order on More 4.

I've used Videoredo to remove the commercial breaks so it's like watching a DVD.

Get taping from January. Zone Romantica are showing Falcon Crest from some time in the New Year, you can check another thread in the Soaps Section for the actual date. Hope you have this channel.
Back on topic, I sadly tape EVERY (well mostly every) new drama and stockpile for watching when nothing else on. Usually there are a few I watch as they're shown but generally I keep a full series until it's finished and then begin watching. So many times. I've taped a whole series, watched one episode and hated it, so taped over the rest of the series! Even after all these years, I still prefer using VHS! Currently stockpiling Underbelly, I'll Fly Away (though missed 2 eps), Kyle XY, Survivors, Life, 90210 and many more. I just recently taped over my VHS collection of My So Called Life, even though I bought in on DVD, as I felt sad about parting with it, I'd saved it so long!

You are very lucky having the complete series of Sons and Daughters. I had hoped that iyt would be released on DVD too, but now seems unlikely.
To name but a few what I have transferred onto DVD:

Sons and Daughters (Complete Series, 972 episodes, on 98 discs). (Plus 3 DVD releases)

Eldorado (Complete Series, 156 episodes, compilation and documentary)

Families (First 100 episodes)

Emmerdale (Episodes from August 1995 onwards, until about 2000), loads of Specials and best episodes since

Spitting Image (90% of the entire series, plus specials which won't be released)

The Chart Show (many editions from 1988-1993)

Taggart (Every episode)

Real Crime (nearly 40 editions)

Gameshow Marathon (both 2005 and 2007)

British Soap Awards (Every year since in started in 1999)

British Comedy Awards (most years apart from 6 editions)

National Television Awards (Every year since it started in 1995)

27 discs of Brookside episodes

Comedy Connections (All but the Geoffrey Perkins Tribute )

Tons of Coronation Street (still loads to transfer) + many specials

Crossroads (1980's, plus some 2001 and 2003 material and specials)

The entire Harry Hill's TV Burp

Series 3 to 5 of Screenwipe

The ITV 50 shows, plus loads of regional specials over the years, and continuity and adverts and idents and stuff

Forgot to add, Dave Allen 1993 Series on ITV
Some old EastEnders from the late 80's and some 90's, plus lots of old Home and Away and Neighbours episodes from the late 80's / early 90's, but these are still languishing on tape.

I recorded all 60+ editions of QI onto my hard drive, then dubbed them onto DVD - 11 in all.

When I was looking through them the other day I realised I'd missed out dubbing Episode 13!

I'd already deleted it from the hard drive, but even if/when it appears again on Dave or whatever again and I can rerecord it, it'll be out of sequence on the DVD's. That shouldn't matter really, but I'm so anal it'll bug me...
