Oh yes... (see earlier post about Classic Star Trek)

Well it was dad with the cough and my mother's endless crticising of me shushing everyone. Those were the days!

Was it too much to ask for 50 mins of silence once a week - apparently yes it was !

Tonight I am taping The Sculptress off ITV3. Years ago I taped the first part, but never got the second part. I've been waiting all this time. Can't wait for next week to see how it resolves.

NO DON'T TELL ME HOW IT ENDS LET ME FIND OUT FOR MYSELF

BTW: I used to leave gaps on VHS tapes when I went on hols so that I could later record the missing episode - in the correct order of course

This is a truly delightful thread. I'll revisit in a while to see what else has been added.

You're not really still using tapes are you?

Not any more. But I still have the first part of this on tape.

BTW : I have never thrown out any of my videos except when they broke in such a way that I couldn't fix 'em. Became good at fixing them, unjamming them, splicing them with sellotape if the tape broke !

Dreading that they might Blu-ray them as - so far - I'll have resisted the temptation to buy a player.

BTW: I used to fill up the end of VHS tapes with themes HA !”

Sorry to do this to you but you can get all three seasons on Blu-Ray for £141...

I'm still waiting for them to repeat Heartbreak High so I can get the missing eps from my VHS (yes VHS) collection. I started it early 2000 and it's so annoying that the only DVD release of that series is in GERMAN!!

Does it not have English audio as one of the language options? As long as the audio is in English does it really matter if the packaging et al is in a foreign language?

from Wikipedia:

Season 1 of the show has been released on two DVD sets in Germany in the dubbed German version with no English audio track. This DVD is the official release for Germany. Despite overwhelming public demand, there is still no info on an official international release as yet

The guy down the road has every episode of Little house on the prairie, the spin off Little House wth Shannon Doherty and the Walt Disney mini series with Richard Thomas.

I usually get as far as the first series then stop for some reason. My collections are weird.

E Street Mr Bad volume 1 and 2
Sunset Beach series 1
Ghost Whisperer 1 to 4
Family Guy way to many to count

and countless others no many to mention

some I record myself some I buy.

I am trying to build my collection of Gladiators episodes.

I currently have:

Gladiators UK series 1 - 4 (92-95)
International Series 1
International Series 2
Battle of Champions

and some of the newer series (UK, Aus and USA).

Can anyone trade with me for any of the ones I don't have (especially interested in UK series 5-8 (96-99)?

Thanks

I've had the US sets of Prairie for a few years now , but the Shannon D series was not a spin off.
It was season 9 of the show (A New Beginning) and still featured Melissa Gilbert as Laura Ingalls and it came between the last series that Michael Landon appeared in and the 3 tv movies that wrapped it all up including the literally explosive finale where Walnut Grove is blown to bits -they did it in real life too - the sets are destroyed onscreen.

You could wind him up by letting him know that many of the episodes on those Canadian boxsets have bits missing including the full opening titles on series 1 and 2 which means the guest star names are not there as they only appear on the opening credits.

The UK sets have been sourced from better masters and are complete as are the European releases although these have only reached season 6 so far

Long shot, does anyone have any Chart Show episodes from 1987? I am specifically after the video for Doctor and the Medics single More (an excellent micky take of Peter Gabriels Sledgehammer vid), Chart Show defo played it but I cant find it on You Tube etc anywhere. PM me if you can help.

Also, anyone with schools tapes should upload the interval slides, theres quite a following for the music played over these.

As for myself I have every episode of Cell Block H on VHS although living in the Yorksire region many episodes are heavily edited and it prob took me longer than anyone else to collect these due to the pace Yorkshire showed Prisoner at. Borrowed the episode 600 tape and the great fire of wentworth episodes from a mate in the Granada region, was like watching a totally different show due to the edits on my copy.

I could have swore that they had since released them all but you are correct. Only season one.

This thread is so so scary.
Not only are you lot the biggest bunch of TV geeks ever, but.....
most of you are sooooooooooo weird as to recording shows others choose to miss.
Best wishes to one and all.

Going back about 20 years ago when I lived at home:

90210
Out of This World
Press Gang
Home and Away - The Rebekah Elmaloglou years
Saved by the Bell
Anything with Phillipa Forrester - I used to tape all of CBBC and then edit out Bananaman etc..
I had the lot of Grange Hill from 1986-1991

All still in the loft, god knows if the tapes are ok, I doubt it!
