I think Lee has been off sick -certainly not for long periods - and not like Connie where she had a serious throat problem.

Lee did have bronchitis (I think) but nothing as serious as Connie - and he wasn't off for a long time.

Lewis came in to cover of course.

I don't really like the general sweeping statement in the title of this thread. Ok it might apply to some Jessie fans but certainly not all.

I still wish that it had been Jessie who won, but I'm not bitter. I'm happy for Jodie as she's come over as a lovely woman and whatever Jessie does next I definitely want to go and see even if she's not playing Nancy.

Hmm, I like it how a sensible, fair comment from a Jessie fan has been overlooked. Just because Jessie didn't win it doesn't mean we're not happy for Jodie. Whenever we make a pro Jessie comment we get jumped on even though some of us actually do have the sense to be able to make balanced and coherent posts.

We're getting over the fact that Jessie didn't win and are being happy for Jodie yet some others can't even accept that Jessie is talented and did very well in the final. If Jessie had won I'd definitely be putting in a good word for Jodie as she was brill as well that night.

Hmph.

/rant over.

yep and I'm probably being cynical but can't help but wonder if that lewis comment was a subtle dig at jessie as she is ALW favourite too hope i'm wrong

No it was a comment about what was said about Lewis when he took over and the understudy got kicked to the side. A few people commented that Lewis wasnt good and his voice was weak .....

cant see where Jessie is on this.........your getting abit paranoid...........

One other thing that everyone should all remember and apply it to all situations, said to me by a great friend of my fathers before he passed away when Wales won the rugby against England, "modest in victory, gracious in defeat".

Most people have been very fair but I feel some are continuing to rub others up the wrong way. There's nothing we can do about the result now.

Thta's what I thought too. Not very nice. Anyway I think that Sam was ALW's fave, or maybe Rachel. Jessie was certainly one of his favourites.

I'm not going to suggest what Casper did or didn't mean by it, but I do think it's worth pointing out the differences between the two situations (should the Jessie scenario arise).

Lewis was not very popular with the viewing public and only came in in third place because he was 'helped' along the way by Andrew. Jessie was overwhelmingly the public's second choice. Like Jodie, she was never in a sing off. If she was offered alternative Nancy, I have no doubt she would be able to sell tickets far more successfully than Lewis.

I completely agree, she must have mass support, especially as she had no home vote too, I definitely would pay to see her if she was the alternate

Exactly. Jessie was never in the bottom 2. Had no support from her home town and still got lots of votes.
If she were to take the role of Nancy in a year or so's time I think that she would be perfect for it.
Why would anyone have a problem with that?

I agree that the lack of home votes would reflect on the final vote count, but having said I still think Jodie's fanbase was strong enough for her to win anyway.

I'd definitely rush for a ticket to see Jessie in the WE - and I'm sure her chance will come!

completely agree, i still think jodie would have won too, but jessie will definitely be in demand in the west end, all the people that voted for her plus the peole who couldn't vote for her in ireland will want to see her

I can't see the problem at all, just wondering was lewis understudy/alternate to lee straight away, if he was I can't see the problem of jessie getting a couple of the quieter shows straight away too, however it wouldn't be fair on jodie to get more than two, for a while anyway

If Jessie had the home vote she would of won, I'm convinced by it. The population of Ireland is just over 4 million and by no means does that automatically translate into 4 million votes but I'm almost certain it was very close on final night and her home vote would have clinched it.

TBH I don't know why her fans would even want her to be 'second best'. She is b*****y brilliant singer and deserves to be the top of whatever she does. Give the girl a rest - she is supposed to be your favourite - let her work through her deep sadness and then she will wake to a list of offers, offers that give her the opportunity to take on an individual lead or high profile part of her very own.

Neither Lewis nor Aoife were engaged until the production had been up and going for a while. I don't know what will happen this time around, given that there's such a long wait until the production begins.

I agree. They absolutly love her over there apparently.

I see what you're saying and I do agree, but I would love to see her play this role, because, like Cameron said, she was born to do it. But I have no doubt that lots of other offers will come her way.
