I honestly don't see the point of speculating about the margin of Jodie's success. She won - the show's over - and much as I would have loved to see Jessie victorious, I don't begrudge Jodie her hour of glory; she worked hard for it, so let's at least be generous enough to let her enjoy it.

And I agree with Kez - Jessie must be bitterly disappointed just now - but once she's licked her wounds, she should take pride in the fact that as a raw 18 year old she came 2nd from a long line of aspiring contestants. She won't need the consolation prize of understudy, her name will be up there in her own right.

Perhaps not for a little while - but her time will come.

And if there had been no final for Britains Got Talent then all the chavs voting there could have voted for Jodie.....

Come on. Give Jessie a break. She needs to work through losing, pick herself up and move on. She is a winner,as is Sam, as is Rachel....as are others.

I wonder if Oliver will go on your at some point if Jodie does it in the West End, Jessie could do it in other venues like here in Cardiff

CM was full of (attempts at) vote gaining verbellage last Saturday. Actually, the obvious bias throughout the show - on last, sat down, some funny mic effect at the start of her swansong, may have lost her votes - knowing the GBP dislike of manipulation.

Personally, I see her far more 'born to play' Judy Garland, Calamity Jane, Annie get your Gun, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, than Nancy. However, I can see them wanting her to take Nancy on in a national tour, yes.

I liked both, equally, but the problem was I liked them for completely different reasons. I found it impossible to compare and I don't think it's healthy for the Jessie fans to be trying to do do either, as all they end up doing is running in circles posting vitriol and irrelevant and ridiculous voting notions.

Jessie is a fighter. Having been told no by two drama schools she didn't turn around and catch the next flight back to Ireland, did she? No, she kept the faith and joined a queue of thousands. She'll be back and I reckon she will have learned so much from this she will be back, and back better than before. Sometimes we need to fail to win.

Yeah it's true the person who dosen't win often ends up winning, Jennifer Hudson comes to mind

But this isn't a case of 'one' winner. There are so many musicals all requiring that known name to be 'up in lights' that promotion though, effectively, a three monrth audition makes any girl who is successful a winner. Many of these girls will all 'win' in ther own way. It's not a competition anymore.

I just used the phrase to express how good she is and how proud Ireland should be.

Hopefully Jessie will not understudy anyone. If she does it is likely to be for experience and a short lived episode. Cam Mac is responsible for much bigger gigs than a relatively small part in Oliver. Jessie will be groomed for a blockbuster at some point I believe. She is a star and Cam Mac and ALW know it!.

On the other hand I do think Jodie will do very well and have a great career, but whether it will be in MT or as a leading lady again time will tell. I do think that Jodie apears to be a pleasant, honest person and fair play to to the girl, her 'down to earth' approach appealed to many who voted on the night. Hopefully those who did vote will now pay to see the musical and not sit at home, or Cam Mac will be right. In fairness his judgement of stardom is usually spot on from what I have seen in many years of following MT
