Apologies for starting another thread, but so many I looked at seemed to be either Jodie's fans taunting Jessie's fans, or Jessie's fans shouting 'we wuz robbed.' I know that's probably an exaggeration but I just want to say;
Congratulations Jodie - the public were asked to vote for their favourite Nancy and they put their money firmly where their mouth is. Her fans must be ecstatic - and I truly wish her all the luck in the world.
It doesn't matter why her supporters voted as they did; many, perhaps most, have been loyal to her since the beginning - admiriing her performances, her warmth and personality; some feel she suffered from negative feedback from the panel, and in the last couple of weeks CM definitely raised the hackles of viewers with his open and public rejection of her inability for the role - so yes, perhaps there was a groundswell of sympathy votes at the last minute. Reasons, though, are irrelevant - like any other contest relying on a public vote, she won because she was the choice of the public.
I can't comment on performances, because I'm still away from home - but by all accounts Jessie (my 2nd favourite after Fran) was sensational! I'm so pleased for her - it's difficult to go this far only to be runner up, but assuming the accuracy of the general consensus of opinion - she rose to the occasion magnificently. Some feat from an inexperienced 18 year old.
You go girl - and when I see you taking the lead in the WE I'll be first in line for tickets.
